Caught this show for the first time tonight.

Larry David is killing right now.

Ricky Gervais and Larry David are on the show together. That's enough of a reason for me to watch.

I'm watching it as it's on now too. Madonna is incredibly annoying.

I love Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I don't pay too close attention to Larry David otherwise. Seeing him riff on this show makes me appreciate his comedy a lot more. He's pretty quick.

Madonna is straight white trash with a little bit of talent that made her a millionaire. What happened to the British accent she used to have?

He's the only person who can make Jerry Seinfeld funny.

The thing is that while Larry David and Ricky Gervais are brilliant, the show itself is unbearably mediocre. I don't believe for a damn second those "marriages" are real -- it's so contrived. And the host is an unfunny douche.

Bringing David and Gervais in to this is like hiring Miles Davis and John Coltrane to come in and play Jonas Brothers songs. Yeah, they're going to sound good because they're such geniuses, but the material they have to work with is just dreck. With a bad panel, this show would be utterly unwatchable. And even David and Gervais were straying close to sounding like the hackiest comedian from some Night On The Improv rerun from the '80s with some of their material. You can only polish a turd so far, after all.

Notice I didn't talk about Madonna. There's a reason for that.

Yeah of course the show's premise requires great comedians to be funny. It doesn't matter if the marriage scenarios are real or fake, the reason to watch is to admire their comedic minds and how quickly they snap off jokes.

What is remarkable to me is that they landed such big names. Like them or not, having Ricky Gervais, Larry David, and Madonna on the same stage is a pretty big pull. I would expect to see a panel of something like Greg Geraldo, Artie Lange, and some playboy bunny on a show like this.

Give it a few episodes.
