I bought whale at Tsukiji. My mother in law did both a raw and cooked preparation. It was tasty. Sort of like a hybrid between tuna and beef. It was also served to us during a kaiseki meal at an Inn in Kyoto. They did a marinated version that was also very good.

the owner is OCD about being open from april fools day to halloween,had me shoveling snow off of greens for a week last year so we could have an april 1st opening,i think it has to do with the payroll sevice he has set up and doesnt want to mess up his system,i dont care,gives me two weeks to enjoy with no snow
