O and A did their best show in years on Friday

I don't know what it was, but if you haven't heard it, check it out, especially 2 hours into it. I think the lack of Norton was a big help, and it was really heavy on the two of them, and it sounded like for the first time in literally 5 years that these guys actually LIKED each other.

I was never in the "they hate each other" camp, but whether it was indifference, resentment, growing apart and looking to whats next, I think its no stretch to say they weren't quite on the same page.

The 2nd to middle of the 3rd hour though was just amazing, as they talked about their relationships and whatnot. Maybe its because I can relate to what they spoke about in my life right now, and it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think there was a lot of good. I just kind of catch these guys when I catch them, but after Friday, I'll try to listen more. It was the most fun I had listening since WNEW.

The third and 4th mic's are good and needed, but these guys shouldn't be shy to take it solo more often, its a lot more interesting than listening to whatever comic is plugging his gig hitting us with the shocking pop culture reference of the week.

Yesterday's show was painful to listen to.

No Anthony in the studio, and Norton and Opie talking about politics while Opie admits he basically knows nothing about anything. And then he pats himself on the back for "holding [his] own" in the discussion while spending a couple hours saying how he doesn't really know what he's talking about.

Opie might be good on the board, but holy shit is he an idiot.

The problem is, all he does is talk about his ignorance. Not very compelling radio.

Norton doesn't really give a shit, and Opie doesn't have anything close to the brainpower to pull off an interesting show by himself. Big fail yesterday. But I kinda checked out on O&A a couple years ago anyway, so I might be a little biased.

Yeah I have to say yesterday's O and J show was unbelievably bad!
I was wondering if anyone was going to pipe up about it. Ham N Egger right on. When Opie goes, well we just got an hour and a half of good radio out of nothing, who the hell was he kidding? It was two people in a discussion that neither of them cared about at all, and then getting fired up about a misinformed clip, everything going wrong. Opie's uninformed views about politics may be a nice counterpart to Anthony's fanaticism, but this show was like two guys pushing a dead car down an empty highway. Booo.
