I sure wish they would've picked a better looking leading female character.

I mean her face looked pretty at first but then I saw that fat ass and the cankles and was immediately turned off by her.

Maybe she'll get killed in this episode and they'll replace her w/ a hottie.

I loved it! Death Wish meets Die Hard.
Simplicity itself. Nothing complicated - just a well crafted stylized ass kicking. And after
the brain cramps involved with watching LOST its just the perfect diversion.

I highly recommend this show.

'Justified' scores biggest FX debut since 'Shield (http://www.thrfeed.com/2010/03/justified-scores-biggest-fx-debut-since-shield-.html)

The premiere of FX's "Justified" on Tuesday night was the second most-watched series debut in the network's history.

"Justified" was seen by 4.2 million viewers, topping all of cable TV and ranking as FX's biggest series premiere since "The Shield" first aired in 2002.

As is the tendency with Western-styled shows, the appeal was particular strong among older viewers. Only 2.0 million of "Justified" viewers were adults 18-49.

Finally got to see this this week.

Even if I hadn't known Elmore Leonard was behind this, I would have guessed it. It's got that great combination of humor and jarring violence that he's got down perfectly.

As a native Kentuckian, I'm always nervous about anything set here, because I figure it's going to portray Kentuckians as either completely idiotic hillbillies, or crazy mountain psychos. But I think this pretty much got what people are like in a small town. I liked it a lot.

I do have one quibble: the convict in the beginning said he hated working at Disney becuase it was full of "Negroes and homosexuals." Uh, no, those are not the words he'd probably be using. Especially if he's from Corbin. Anthony Cumia would consider that town horribly racist.

I don't know...perhaps it was Ronnie B's criticism that pushed me over the edge, but this show is losing me fast.

Last episode seemed like they took a Walker, Texas Ranger script and just added some profanity (now that I think about it, the previous episode was pretty much the same).

I had such high hopes after the first episode.

I think the problem is that there isn't a central plot, there's the love thing and the fact that he doesn't want to be in Kentucky, but those just seem like side things. What bothers me is that the entire ad campaign was him facing of with the guy from The Shield and they get that out of the way in the first episode and there isn't much left to do but a series of standalone stories.

Has anyone been noticing all of the weird red herrings they've been tossing in?

Like in episode two, they hinted that something was awry with Deadwood's hat after it was found in the stolen car.

Or in episode three where they were making it seem like the chief was planning on stealing the reward money and frame Deadwood for it.

They rarely amount to more than a lingering closeup or a pause in the dialogue, but they're the type of things that would be an obvious Chekov's Gun-type of clue in a CSI episode.

Am I making any sense?

Totally agree with this.

Good television has long story arcs, frivolous shit is done episodically. I can't imagine why they chose to present it like this.

ok - - if you analyze this weeks show, youll see a show that appears to be written by a high school geek squad. I mean the way they developed the character of the sherrif and his lackee was laughable.

THAT SAID IT IS STILL a fun, enjoyable show to watch. Probably due to the charizma of Olyhant and whoever that smoking hot blonde is "Ava'.

She's done a ton of TV work before....most recenly, she was the slutty daughter on Dirty Sexy Money, which was awesome cause she was half naked almost every scene she did on that show. She was also in The Other Guys....the Whalberg/Will Ferrell movie. She's credited as "Christinith".

and in my research i just found out that Dickie Benett is the nervous nelly greenback with the camera in Saving Private Ryan that winds up letting that other dude get killed.

Anyone else getting a bad feeling for Ava? Now that Boyd has gone back to his crooked ways I just see it ending bad for Ave. Like he's played her right into his arms & when he settles all business it'll include her on the business end of the shotgun she killed his brother (or was it his cousin?) with.

I was almost happy to see Raylan's aunt/step-mom get shot (we assume) because I felt like they were going to write something bad happening to a woman in his life into the storyline & I like Ava Winona's characters too much. I guess we'll see. Looks like the last two episodes are going to be a really wild ride.

Raylan is one cool mofo and Olaphant plays him perfect.

And his wife is fucking smoking.

Boyd is one interesting character too.

Love the Boyd Crowder character......his lines are so well written....he's always quick witted and sharp and even when he's at his most evil he'll have a one liner that's just hilarious. The back and forth between he and Raylan when they're in a scene together is one of the best things happening on television. I do wonder why he got himself put in jail though....he's too smart for that so he's definitely up to something. I suppose he's going to kill that little shit from last season.

The stab wound in the first victims hand gave away the game. That was cool as shit though.....he did it all calm and collected. great scene.

Yeh we saw it but raylan didn't but u saw in his eyes he knew something was up
Just wasn't sure how he was gonna go about it

No, he didn't see him stab the guy with the ice pick, but the sniper dude that he works with told Raylan that the victim had a stab wound in his hand consistent with an ice pick. That's how they knew who they were looking for, because Nix's MO is using that weapon and is a known fugitive. I think when he wanted to play the gun game with Raylan he put the whole thing together and knew if he went for the gun he was going to get stabbed.

All I want, from now on, is for the City of Lexington and FX to do nothing else but make more of this show. When I turn on my TV in the mornings I want this to be on, and for it to be all new.
It is written like a classic western, the only difference is the absence of spurs a janglin and the occasional mention of cell phones. Other than that it is western dialog. Love this sho and have from the beginning.

(and yeah, I know it's mostly filmed in PA)
(and if they are in KY, supposedly, why drink midrange bourbon with the Wild Turkey? Break out the Makers!)

Hell yea man! what happened last week? I forget but I remember liking it. Its enjoyable watching a show that ADVANCES the overall story line episode to episode, but that's bleeding over from a Walking Dead conversation I'm having and has no place in this thread.

Most I can remember is Boyd's brother or cousin killed their buddy - who was going to go over to working for the mafia suit guy.

Dicky wasnt able to get his mothers hidden millions.

Right right right......pretty tense that scene in their old store front. Oh, and watching the crooked prison guard get run over a couple of times was hilarious.

Still have no idea where this season is going. It's like Game of Thrones at this point with tons of different characters and storylines going on at once.
