i was thinking of some elmore leonard books i've read and i noticed i was humming a righteous brothers song and that didnt seem right cuz i think of mo town when it comes to E L. and when i looked at my tom clancy's for some reason marvin gaye came to mind and i have no idea why i associate him to a baltimore writer. does anybuddayelse do this or am i off?

I like to play music cds I have made. While I read the newspaper at work.
And do the wonderword.

I associate all of Ayn Rand's books with Tom Waits just because they're the two things I read and listen to the most.
I associate Kafka with Rancid, I think because I read and listened to them both frequently at the same time of my life.

I might associate different music with a particular book but never actually listen while I'm reading.

I have a thing similar to this. I install ceramic tile and if I'm listening to Ron and Fez, TWiT or Fresh Air I will associate the area I was working with the topic that was being discussed while I was working in that area. With books I will tie them to what was happening in my life at the time but never a specific band or song.
