Cartman nailed it...Hippies hate death metal. I see it goes vice versa.
the post was for those who would enjoy the experience. Not for those who feel compelled to trash someone else's fun.
I am late to the jam scene but better late than never. I had a heavy metal phase but that was a long time ago. Missed Marley and Garcia because I was listening to Nugent. Like I said better late than never. I matured.

My first exposure was a JGB show way back when and it was without a doubt a most uniquely enjoyable experience to date in a long string of concerts of all types. I’d love to go but I’m so tidied up now I’d probably be cast as security rather than a fan! I’ll be in FL anyway that day but if not I might’ve thought about it. Thanks for the post!

If you can't take a joke, don't post shit on a message board. Especially a message board based on a comedy show.

Is this how you “keep it positive” and make the board a “nice place to go”? Good job.

So Moe saying "No Thanks" was "trashing someone else's fun" ?

Seems so. And the part where we referenced a "Night of the Living Dead" joke was just mean spirited too.
Ya know, I really don't like the Grateful Dead but I didn't even bring that up. I wasn't looking to shit on the guy's thread. I easily could have.
Not to mention, this little discussion was the only heat the thread was getting.

No. That wasn't what I was referring to – it wasn’t what I quoted. There were ten other ways to relay the message I quoted. And I asked the question with that Fez quote in mind. But I get it now: the Fez quote is pure sarcasm.

So glad you could exercise your powers of restraint in this case.
I have to keep reminding myself that sometimes it’s just not worth it to bother.

Good idea champ. Because all you ended up doing was looking for something that wasn't even there.

And here, let me show you how it's done and try to bury the hatchet.
There is an opportunity for people to come to Manhattan on Thursday, April 1st to be part of a movie.
You will be in the audience of the final scene of this movie, this particular scene is a recreation of a Grateful Dead live show. Raffle prizes are also being given away. Come have some fun and see how a filmed event is done. Follow THIS LINK (http://beinamovie.com/movie.php?mtitleid=86) for all the info and instructions on how to reserve your spot in this film.
There, is that so fucking hard? If the fucking event was SO Goddamn important to the OP that he couldn't stomach one little joke, maybe he should have purt forth an OUNCE of effort besides dropping a link in a thread. Also, how about a better worded thread title? "A Dead Film" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. There's about 20 other things I'd think of before The Grateful Dead.
Fucking noobs.

I don't consider myself a "newbie" or "noobie." I've been listening to Ronnie B. since he had Gary Spivey wearing a sheep on his head and seeing auras, Fez was wearing Boa's and doing the Nature Boy rant and Ronnie D was doing his he man bit while Ronnie you know was the comic relief.
So, I jumped the gun a bit with the Central Park call and calling it a Dead movie. I regretfully (or maybe a good thing) was late to the bus. Nevertheless, I found archive.org and have been blessed to hear Furthur's shows in Florida this year, Miami and Orlando last month were tremendous. Better than my trip to MSG last April to hear the Dead.
I thought there might be some people in the NYC area who might enjoy being a part of a movie filming. "Chris ('Tanley)" would probably enjoy it hearing as how he regretfully has to sheepishly admit his Phish admiration which is likely an indication of a respect for GD too. It is a shame because they are so much better than so many of the groups that Ronnie B (though I admire his perspective and knowledge of many things) strays too often for my liking toward talking about and seemingly respecting mainstream unoriginal groups like a Bon Jovi or Journey ???!!!) Anyhow. I suppose I should stay off this board and just listen to Ronnie for his occasional/frequent pearls or wisdom and to see where Dave goes.

The one with the shitty music.
So it could be anywhere from 1965 until now.

Eh, there's not much more to do in this thread really. I wasn't trying to be an asshole but after being accused of being an asshole for no good reason I ended up becoming an asshole.

I've read Jerry once said that their music is like licorice. Many don't like it but those who do, really like it. (something like that.)
So, DMM...I accept that your longevity is an indication of having something to offer. My respect to that.
While I don't agree with your dumping on GD music because I am glad I found the music (better late than never) it opened my ears to Dylan and Neil Young among others, plus their 30 plus years of allowing taping provides a lot to hear and enjoy, I'll end my contribution to this thread that I started somewhat clumsily with a Fez line, you might not like but you'll learn to love it because it is the best thing going today...woohoo! Visit MCU Park on 6/26 or 6/27 you metal head and see whether you are won over. I expect you would be. I'm going to travel 1010 miles to hear it. Phil's second liver won't last forever. If you hadn't been such a contrarian I might have offered you my miracle ticket.
Peace....
