Based on Brian Selznick's bestselling children's book, "Hugo Cabret" is set in 1930s Paris and centers on a 12-year-old orphan who must solve the mystery of a broken robot.

Not for me, but it did win the biggest children's book award in the usa.

(how much time will pass before someone makes a pederast joke?)

Very intrigued by this project. MS appears to be going several miles outside of his comfort zone. Tack on the 3D announcement and the oddity compiles. Hopefully Scorsese's striking visualism will be a heavenly match for the cutting-edge tech. Glad Beng Kingsley is returning since he appeared so attuned with his director on Shutter Island. I don't know if it can do gigantic business, though. Audiences in this current Pixar release climate have conditioned themselves into believing that toddler-pandering narratives are inclusive for all ages, and I strongly doubt Marty would set his sights that low.

Still looks like ass.

I agree with what I saw of it, though it currently has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it is really getting slaughtered at the box office by Twilight, The Muppets and even Happy Feet Two. I guess I'll check it out if it's even still in the theaters by the time I get around to it. It's probably one of those films that is worth seeing on the big screen as opposed to waiting till it's On Demand.

Just to clarify...Hiugo is in like a third of the theaters than the others so it has a high per screen average.
