Did you ever notice that when english bands sing, they dont have an accent. But listen to their interview and its like wtf. The beatles are a prime example, I cant understand a single word I hear from the old interviews, albiet they were most likely stoned and mumbling, but that liverpool accent geez. But when they sing, like they were stateside, home grown boys. But that goes for alot of folks that cant speak english but yet can sing in it. Or worse yet, you get someone like Billy Idol or Ozzie, and the combination of english accent and drugs makes it almost impossible to understand their speach. But they can sing just fine.
Whats the deal there. Has anyone else noticed this too?

Sneezing, the underated orgasm.

I think one of the things I always loved so much about punk rock back in the day was the way the singers sounded oh-so-British...they NEVER lost that accent. It's true for the rest of the rockers, though. I'll never forget the first time I heard Van Morrison in an interview; I don't think I've ever heard a heavier brogue in my life! And yet he sings like an American soul singer! Amazing.

i have a theory about this... i think that there's a sort of international singing accent. like, we think everyone sounds like they're singing with an american accent, while british people thing everyone's singing with a british accent, etc. i just think that we're not able to perceive the difference.

however, there are some people who do sing with accents. i think a prime example of this would be morrisey... but i think this might be a conscious thing that he does. if not, then i don't know what this says for my stupid little theory

But it so understandable when the sing, but the regional accent just murders their everyday speach. Please Ozzie, no more radio plugs, use the old ones lmao
