I always like Rogan on O&A. Remember it is 4am where he is. Probably not rested or sober.

Lately I've been noticing more and more how much O&A are like dull guys you avoid in your office. They talk a lot about their cell phones and how not enough happens on Lost.

Christ, Norton.

What are some Green Day songs?!

How about you do some research on your own, so the listeners don't have to hear a 45 minute block of "Let's catch Jim Norton up to 1994".

Jimmy, is your iTunes broken?

Jim's love of everything ozzy is amazing. New song sucks. Nothing new, weak vocals.

Jimmy only knows Ozzie is one of the staples of the O&A Cultural Wasteland Drinking Game. The more famous the thing Jimmy has never heard of because it's not Ozzie the bigger the drink you take.

What? You don't like it? Go listen to some faggy hipster music (music that wasn't played on late-90s rock radio), maaaaaan!

Yuck.

Jim's lack of musical taste and knowledge is unmatched in radio. I wonder if jim's first sexual act(monster rain, pool bj, stairway bj, smelling pee soaked undies) was committed while listening to ozzy.

I give Jim a pass. He loves Ozzy and KISS, hates everything else, and doesn't really give a fuck. He also didn't spend ~15 years in rock radio like some other hosts who are somehow still stuck in 1993 despite being in his early 30s at the time.

Agreed. Odd that his two choices are "demonic" "sell outs."

I remember a few months back, they were talking with the movie reviewer that calls in every once in a while. I think the caller brought up The Road, and mentioned that Hillcoat had directed The Proposition as well. They had no idea what The Proposition was. Then the caller mentioned Nick Cave's involvement with both films. They had no idea who he was either. Staggering ignorance. All I could think of was Beavis and Butthead sitting there, mystified.

I'd hope that what Opie meant was the media kinda' glorified the whole thing with the wall to wall coverage of it. Like what they did with the VT gunmen... Publishing his home videos/manifesto or whatever he had. That kind of treatment of that horrific shit makes some of these scumbag kids who think about shooting up their schools believe that it'd make them famous or whatever.

Opie just said that $10 in 1981 has to be close to $100 now when adjusted for inflation.

It's scary that people who are so stupid can talk to millions of people at a time.

Current data is only available till 2009. In 2009, $10.00 from 1981 is worth:
$23.60 using the Consumer Price Index
$21.00 using the GDP deflator
$23.80 using the unskilled wage
$26.20 using the Production Worker Compensation
$34.10 using the nominal GDP per capita
$45.60 using the relative share of GDP

the inflation caluclator i used says:

What cost $10 in 1981 would cost $23.30 in 2009.
Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2009 and 1981,
they would cost you $10 and $3.88 respectively.

Danny also found that adjusted for inflation it would be around $23.

But noone needs a calculator to see how wrong that is. Would anything that costs $100 now cost $10 in 1981? Would dinner in a really fancy restaraunt cost $7, or a brand new midsized car cost 2k?

Is there really an intersection between the demos of women who buy the highest end electronics on their launch date, and women who are willing to spread their butt cheeks in front of a room full of strangers? Theres probably a reason they did this with porn stars before.

There has got to be a story behind this Beatallica booking, I'd really like to hear it.

They completely alienate every woman, then they keep trying to do these old school bits and no women will come in to do them and they are surprised.

O&A really seem to love visual bits. I've never understood how having naked girls in the studio is supposed to be entertaining for the listeners.

I remember when they used to get angry when callers would complain about them playing YouTube videos on the air. I love being told that something is great radio.

His reasoning is hilarious.... he'll say something totally wrong, Anthony will say, "No, it's this...", and then Opie will say "Yea, I know, but...." and then continue with dummy talk.

I bet it went like this:

Hoo-hoo Opie do you want to be my caddy.

I bet that Howard wants O&A on his Channels next year when he goes into semi-retirement.
