I don't understand why they seem to be holding a grudge against Conan O'Brien.

Cause Jay supports them. Nothing "personal" against Conan with them as much as Jay is a Friend of the show.

it didn't seem that way to me......i think they had a good point about Lopez being bumped and Conan not mentioning that at all. they said he had some funny lines, and they commended him for not coming off as a whiner about the whole thing......but at the same time, they had a legit gripe when the reporter asked a very good question and Conan tip toed around it. they didn't call him a puss or anything when he basically said he couldn't answer certain questions, which they hate and which i've heard them bash people for previously. i think they were pretty objective to be honest.

Yeah, Jimmy in particular goes out of his way to make some really questionable arguments in favor of Jay. I mean Jay's whole shtick is that humble "I don't really have anyone representing me blah blah blah" meanwhile today's line by Jimmy was that Jay has a high-powered lawyer that got him a great deal so they couldn't get rid of him without paying him a boatload of money. Seems like they could at least get their stories straight.

To me, the most nauseating of example of Jimmy's Leno love is whenever he talks about how he supposedly has a big dick. Yuck.

Jimmy's defense of Leno's jokes at the Correspondent's dinner was cringy.

I know he's "new" in the whole big media thing but he's tryng real hard not to burn bridges. I'm not looking forward to hearing this tomorrow.

Jimmy constantly defends Larry The Cable Guy and calls him funny. None of this should surprise anyone.

I think he defends Larry as a money making act and as a guy who's been around forever.

I get what Jimmy is doing, but he's as quick to defend Leno as he will tear apart someone else. It's funny, but it goes against any "we're real" posture the show puts forth, and they do. I love when they smash things that aren't funny, but it's cringy when they defend someone who isn't.
And yes, Leno isn't funny. Most of us would agree.

Jimmy is really bad at defending things and people by acting like they're objectively funny. "Come on, dude. You can't say Leno isn't funny."

If the President of the United States is doing edgier, riskier material than you are at the same event, that might be a sign that you aren't really funny.

Jimmy's problem is that his judgement is clouded by the fact that he considers Leno to be a "comedian's comedian" in that Leno doesn't censor Jimmy's material like other shows have tried to. That's great and all...if you're a comedian. To the public...he's still just not that funny.

Obama's material was great , but his delivery was definately off. Leno's delivery was OK, but his jokes were HORRIBLE.
Still , you can't blame Jimmy . He's always said that Conan's people have NEVER booked him( same story for OnA) , while Leno made him a part of his new show(even if it was shitty; Top Gear, anybody?) . Jimmy ALWAYS defends somebody he's loyal to. Even if Conan is more talented than Leno .

I don't have a problem with Jimmy supporting a guy that has helped his career the way Jay has even if it can border on ass kissing. I don't pay attention to the late night discussions anyway because I can't stand the idiot callers going down the same path of argument every single time the topic gets brought up.

A surprising civil discussion on race between Anthony and Jimmy. Jimmy is more level-headed, but I like that Anthony is actually listening.

Another cringe Opie moment.
Opie is saying "no one notices states lines up here... NY, NJ, CT... they all look the same, right guys?"
Jimmy and Ant were silent.
They never call him out on such nonsense.
