I know one of them is dead but growing up if you talked about Karate or Kung Fu (is there a difference?) it was eaither Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris that would come to mind. I don't know if they fought or ever met up but who would win let's assume that both were in their prime and they fought either with rules or no rules.

What truth? Lee was absolutely everything he was made out to be. He was a movie star because of it. Same as with Norris.

Bruce Lee was a great martial artist. But, there is a difference between a fighter and a martial artist. Many great martial artists were destroyed in the early UFC by fighters.

Not true. I pick Bruce Lee. The guy invented his own brand of martial arts.

It seems to me that the martial artists ( or those very familiar with it) here all chose Bruce Lee and the bar fighters (laymen) all chose Chuck Norris. And thats probably how it should be.
But my opinion is, Bruce Lee is far superior. Lee's speed and precision and technique are unmatched. Norris is stiff and slow. Lee showed you in his movies what western audiences wanted to see....he never showed his true fighting skills. Most Martial Arts masters dont.
