When you talk to Mom on the phone today, ask her what her favorite movie is.
At dinner last night I queried mumsie, and she said One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

I was pleasantly surprised. I imagined for a moment that she actually had some taste. Then she went on to say, "and what's that one with Billy Crystal where he goes to be a cowboy? That's a good one too!" And that glimmer of hope quickly faded. Oh well.

Forgot to ask, but I would guess either Ghost or Dances With Wolves.

So mother would make you watch Wizard of Oz all the time. Now the pieces are really starting to come together...

my fair lady, lion in the winter, big lebowski & the matrix trilogy (particularly the last two -- i know, she's the only one, but they remind her of the sci-fi movies she loved as a kid)

She really loved Coal Miner's Daughter, because she was a massive Loretta Lynn fan and grew up in very similar circumstances.
But I can't call her today. :(
Appreciate them while you've got 'em.

She'd probably say Cold Turkey, which is ironic considering she has never tried to quit smoking.

Forrest Gump and Castaway. Tom Hanks makes her post-menopausal snatch wet.

I thought for sure your mom loved The Big Lebowski, considering she named you after one of the most minor characters.

I don't know her favorite, but the last movie I saw her really enjoy was Dude, Where's My Car. Very odd for a 78 year old, but she's an odd lady.

She was awesome. We should start a fan club. I want to be the treasurer so that I can embezzle funds.
