i think the show this week has been hilarious. the comedian guests have been great. bobby has been killing all week, jay mohr was awesome the other day, and jimmy as chip has also been a riot.

I think Opie focuses more on news topics so it sets Anthony up to rant. Without that guiding hand, it's just Anthony and the comedians talking about whatever comes to mind and it's more laid back and fun to listen to. Anthony had the perfect opportunity to rant today when talking about Bob Kelly knocking on the window of Anthony's truck, but they stuck with laughing wildly at the idea of Bob getting shot.

I think its really funny after all the Cherry Dart bullshit they wind up doing it without Jim and Opie with 4 couples, one of whom they provided themselves.

I dont know if its Anthony having to run the show keeping him focused, or just having so many differant factors that they cant fall into their regular patterns, but there have been some very funny breaks. I've always been a big fan of more guests just sitting in. Colin always cracks me up, and him and Bob Kelly work well together.

I don't care about it being unoriginal. I just always find this visual radio crap boring. I'm sure it's a blast if you're in studio, but listening to a bunch of guys react to stuff I can't see has never struck me as great radio. It's about as fun as listening to them watch YouTube videos on the air.

i don't think its too hard to imagine a couple of chicks having cherries covered in whip cream thrown at their buttholes. youtube vids you can watch easily enough and i think they're pretty good about telling you where to go to watch the same vid. when they do visual stuff its rare that i find myself feeling lost about what they're doing/talking about.

It always comes off to me like they're doing a show more for the people in the room than for the listeners. Maybe it's just me though. I'd much rather hear a funny conversation than this "bit" radio that Opie in particular seems to be really fond of.

Add all that to the fact that it’s well documented that A-Rod is socially awkward and even borderline creepy, and you can see why this relationship didn’t inspire fireworks right off the bat.

We’ve all been in Jeter’s situation before. You have a few close buddies at work. Everyone gets along well. No one stretches the relationship beyond the acceptable limitations of a work friendship (happy hour is OK, weekend plans are not). Then a new guy is hired, and he immediately hears you talking about happy hour. He invites himself, shows up just in time for the first round, and proceeds to talk about how much he hates work for the next two hours. You’re not going to want to go out with that guy again, particularly when he checks on your weekend plans on the way out of the bar. The new guy thinks he’s doing you a favor by hanging out … kind of like how A-Rod thought he was doing Jeter a favor by always saying they were best friends.

Colin is fantastic in studio. He's like a fan of the show who adds something to the discussion. I realize the "usuals" all fit in well but he almost seems giddy to be there. Love hearing him.
