People who don't speak english...

At my job i have to deal with a cleaning crew. now these guys bearly speak english and are always trying to talk to me in really broken english/spanish. i hate it cause i have no clue what the fuck they are saying half the time. they are nice people but for christ sakes learn to speak english... does anyone else have to deal with something like this... just wondering....

Yes. I used to for years. The trick is to be very nice and very understanding, and point a lot at what you want them to do for you. If you are nice and friendly, they will not steal as much from you as they would from other offices in the building. If you are lucky, they will bring you their women for sex.

For many many years I worked as a salesman, and the warehouse workers were predominantly Spanish speaking. The majority were Dominican and Puerto Rican, but there were also several Guatemalans, Mexicans, El Salvadorians, Cubans, Peruvians, Ecuadorians, Uruguyans, etc.

I made every effort to learn to speak their language because I knew they were trying hard to learn mine. Most of the time we could kind of "meet half way" and understand each other. It is unfortunately very difficult to learn another language later in life, so try to be understanding. I have found Latins to be the most beautiful people in the world when it comes to warmth and friendship.

To this day I am close with many of the friends I made years ago, even though we have some difficulty communicating with each other. I have been to baptisms, children's birthdays, First Communions and the like where I was the only English speaking person there, and it kind of lets you know how they must feel.

I work with some people who don't speak english either, so what I found was the best way out of them talking to you is just to nod your head and slightly giggle. No matter what they say, just nod your head and giggle, eventually they will stop talking to you cause they will think you are crazy or something.

I work in psychiatric medicine in Bergen County and I have to deal with the worst accent of them all....Indian. Why are there so many Indian psychiatrists in New Jersey. It seems they've moved up from the quickie marts, yet these boys only, and this is almost always true, care about the almighty dollar. Tough to deal with that mentallity in a field where compassion is a major component to this side of the medical field. However, some are great...Like Dr. Zaidi of Teaneck, NJ. Great guy and truly cares for his patients like they're his family.
