No.
Why you ask?
Because then I would have had to have started a thread when the Batman game was announced. Since I didn't do that, then Fez must play this game instead.

I came so damn close to buying it, but I have yet to hear or read anything that makes me feel like this has any lasting longterm appeal. From what I've gathered, the hero creator is simple and leaves a lot to be desired, and the gameplay borders button-mashing. Even worse, I've read that people have maxed out their levels and burned through all the games content in matter of days. I've also read that the game plays exactly the same regardless of whether you play as hero or villain, the only change to the missions being who the bosses are. All in all, it sounds like a great well-polished game with fantastic voice-acting but something with little replayability and no longterm appeal. Kind of a tall order to drop $50 on the game and $15 a month during a period when free-to-play MMOs are increasing in both abundance and quality. Anyways, that's my two cents. I plan I trying it out at some point, likely when the purchase price drops to $20 or under. I figure if it drops to the price of a budget title, it'll be worth the first free month. I can't imagine wanting to play past the free first month when by the time the monthly fee kicks in, you're no longer earning new powers. Shame, a few years ago this might have had the chance to be competitive with some tweaks and other growth. Just don't see how it can survive in today's MMO market.

Also, FYI, you cannot sell this game or buy it used. It's a 1 time shot for a code to make a character. The dumbest thing I have EVER heard.

Damn! That sucks. So you can't have multiple characters per code?

I'm not sure how it works if you want more than 1 char yourself on an account, but I know you can't give or sell your disc to someone else and have that person be able to make their own character. You would think you could, and they could just not get a free month or something, but the disc is basically dead once it's used once.

dc universe online is now free to download and play. (http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/)
you can upgrade your account to get full access with added features for a monthly fee, but the basic game is now free. i'm downloading it now. it's a HUGE fucking file, over 14 gigs, so it's taking forever. hopefully i'll be able to get into it some tonight.
