The History Channel is really starting to suck

the History Channel seems to be getting worse and worse every day. most of their shows now are 'reality' type shows: axe men, ice road truckers, pawn stars, american pickers, etc. where is the "history" with these stupid shows??

it used to be a definite go-to channel for me, now i rarely see a show worth watching. :annoyed:

I've recently switched from Cablevision to Verizon for my cable needs. I now get at least 5 versions of the History Channel and can always find something.

I agree, the History Channel is kinda going the way of the reality show. I hardly watch TV but when I do I just put it on The History Channel and when it's some shitty reality show I'm always fucking pissed. We also get History International so between the 2 I usually find something interesting.

I agree. I watch History International more but History is trying to imitate Discovery and not doing a good job of it.

History International is definitely better, but in my channel lineup, it's in the middle of nowhere mixed in with Lifetime, Nick Jr, and a bunch of other channels i never watch, so i often forget it's even there.

Yea that is annoying. I'm lucky I guess, on whatever system we have History is 2 channels away from History International. And if you go up one channel from H.I. you can watch Logo... or so I've been told....

The History Channel has gotten pretty embarrassing, but I find Pawn Stars and American Pickers to be guilty pleasures (even though Pawn Stars is obviously mostly staged). At least with a lot of the items they expand on their history; I have no idea how the fuck truckers or loggers fit on the channel!

I love Pawn Stars. Hell, I even kind of like American Pickers.

And when they aired that Expedition Africa show, I was all over it. LOVED it.

Pawn Stars is a bad American Choppers rip-off. the 'old man' = paul sr.; the son = paul jr.; and the f-up other kid = mikey. it's terrible!

American Pickers is 2 guys trying to rip off old people who need money and basically trying to steal their stuff. ugh!

Ice Road Truckers and Axe Men, I record and really want to like, but they FORCE drama constantly on these shows. They'll just shake the camera and act like something happened. Television crews actually got kicked off the first road IRT went on because they faked so much shit.

i've watched every episode! what's up with that one guy with the crazy hair?!? a lot of it's nutty-talk, but there does seem to be some 'evidence' that the earth has been visited in the past.
i'd sooner believe that 'ancient aliens' were the root of many of our current religions than a supernatural 'invisible man in the sky'.
