I had totally forgotten the "Buy West Side a MyFi" bit that was aired last week as a best of. That was funny shit. It still seemed that it was tongue in cheek against Dave back then. Today, not so much. The real Dave Haters take it too far. Dave was just kind of a heel, like Fez used to be back before the retard callers took that too far too.

The "Character Showdown" Siren Series with Fez. The characters got more and more obscure as it went on and you can tell that Ron loved it.

Also, one Valentine's Day, he came into O&A's show. I don't remember all the details, but he ended up naked with and shoved a bagel up his ass for no clear reason.

1. His great laughter when he would laugh at comments made by Ron
2. In general, his delivery. He has great comic timing which evokes both contempt and sympathy. He has great talent.
3. The guy is real. That is why I would do anything I can to help him and his family out.

He has given me so many laughs, and thank you ESD for those laughs. Were it not for you, I probably would have died of a heart attack five years ago.

My favorite moment is going to be when Dave goes to Ron and tells him to stop looking for everyone else to step up and do Fez's job while they are not being compensated financially as 'on air talent' as Fez sits back and collects his huge check.

I wanna say something about Dave.

I will miss him.

I used to be kinda neutral on the guy. People were bothered by him... others loved him... I had no feelings either way. Until recently.

He's brought soooo much to the show.

My fave Dave moment was just a few weeks ago. He did his Half-Hour-Sports-Hour, and he killed it.
After that... Ron brought Dave in to talk about the sports show... and for the next hour, Dave just KILLED! He was so relaxed and easy. He was 2nd mic. Ron was reeeally treating him with respect. Fez was silent, but respectful. The whole thing clicked.

I really do like Dave and I will miss his presence.

My favorite Dave moment comes from a personal story...

It never happened in front of a microphone but it's a great story.

4 years ago when I got married, Dave and his ex came to my wedding. I know he was making next to money back then and they still came and brought gifts, like the swell people they are.

At the reception, on the tables were plates of butter in the shape of a flower. Dave thought it would be a great idea to take the butter and bring it with him into the bathroom and place it on the soap tray at the sink...then wait for someone to use it and claim that someone was pulling a prank and laugh!

I found that humorous...

As well as the after party at the Hotel where Dave demanded the mic from the band that was playing at the bar, and sang a rousing rendition of RAWHIDE for all in attendance.

I knew at that point that Ron and Fez had made the best Producer hire in their history.

Gonna miss you on the show David.

This was in the RSVP note from the wedding.

I like the one where he tried to convince everyone that he was going to quit if he didn't get a raise.
then they totally played it out.

and then Dave laughed at the end of the show loud enough for the mics to pick it up.
The best part?

people still think the's gone.

pretty good run.

I still laugh every time I think of Shits Nolte.

My favorite Dave-era moment was when the Midnight Rider blew the bit ten seconds into it when he called himself the Midnight Rambler.

Dave was the penultimate producer and can never be replaced.

Don't forget Glovebox 2, that's probably my favorite Dave invention.

I started listening to the show regularly (along with O+A for more than just the car ride into work) around March 2008. Before that I would hear the show from time to time if I was driving during a replay or was taking a day off etc but I started to listen every day finally. At this point Dave was still sort of in really weird phase of doing crazy and gross stuff. I remember finding him funny but then thinking he was really sinking low doing stupid things like shitting in Lily's hat on O+A or putting used toilet paper in his mouth etc. Once that all stopped and I really started to like him.

I then cancelled XM back around November 2008 and didn't start listening to the show again regularly until I signed up for Audible in November 2009 so I was shocked to hear that he had another kid and one who was having issues. In that time he really grew as a personality and I really started to like him even more. It's a shame that he was moving in such a great direction but they couldn't make it work for him. Plus since I also have red hair and am named Dave, I gotta love the guy!

Gotta love when he got tortured by that S&M band. I've often thought about having Dave's scream as a ring tone, but I don't want to frighten children and old people.

I realized earlier that I am basically an "ESD era" Ron and Fez fan.

I listened on XM a little bit before him but didn't listen regularly until about the time he was hired. I admit, I really didn't get it at first. Not him, but the entire show.

Goodnight, sweet ginger.

My favorite ESD moment happened fairly early on in his stint with R&F. He was living in Queens and taking the subway to work. He told a story about how a homeless guy stole his coke on the train, drank it for awhile and then turned around and offered him a sip.

It still makes me laugh thinking about it. Someone needs to find that clip and animate it!

This thread makes me sad because I realize that many of my favorite Ron & Fez moments are with Dave. Dave always brought a sense of adventure to the show. This week without Dave has been very dull. I used to wonder if I could kick the R&F habit and now I think it's possible to do because there aren't any more just-can't-turn-it-off moments.

Ron & Dave together were so much fun when giving someone a hard time. When they would rib Earl, AJ Dynamite, Hosp, Big A, Crazed, Franklyn, or Mafia Life Chris, it was so much fun.

I loved Dave's stories. He's experienced life in all its gory glory.
