Tonights premiere of the new mystery Persons Unkown was decent enough to keep
watching. I wont say too much as some of you will be seeing it. The similarities to LOST are obvious and the dissimilarities (unfortunatly) are also obvious.

What they should do is declare a run of say 10 or 15 episodes in a mini series and be done with it. Then people would commit. As it stands with shows getting cancelled every otehr week...its hard to devote time to new shows.

i watched, and it was interesting enough to watch again next week.

i didn't get into Lost, but the mention of the "mine just has some numbers on it" thing made me think of the Lost numbers.

we'll see what happens next week...

I'm pretty sure that they've made it clear in promos that this is a limited run series.

I saw one promo that made a point of saying that there would be answers by the end of this summer, their way of saying "We won't just pull shit out of our ass that makes no fucking sense to keep this show going like Lost did."

I actually see this having more in common with that CBS mini series Harper's Island than I do Lost.

Because I liked this and want to see where it goes, guaranteed it will be cancelled and they won't show all the episodes. NBC can't do anything right, so I fully expect this to be gone by the end of June.

Just saw this posted on line:

Persons Unknown premiered to only 4.308 Million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating at 10 PM. That is less than Happy Town but hey, it's summer and it wasn't promoted much. NBC always said it was a 13 episode mini-series with all questions answered so they should air it all and we should have a Harper's Island like completeness to it. Even if NBC were to pull it, There's an August 14th DVD release date so we'll get all the episodes this summer one way or another. The Good Guys was also very weak with 4.652 million viewers at 9 PM.

I didn't even know about this show until 2 days before it aired and even then I almost missed it. If not for looking through the guide, I didn't know it was supposed to be on last night.

The acting on this show is bad. Real bad. Like.... Michael Bay bad.

So...what happened there?
They drove off and saw a light and found themselves back in town. Twilight Zone style? or did they simply drive in a circle?

Once they saw the night manager run off safely...and then return the next night. Why didnt they grab him and beat him within an inch of his life for information??

Also - these people talk and discuss stradegy with total disregard for the cameras which they KNOW are filming their every move. A normal person would try to exchange info quietly and with their hands over their mouths or with their backs to the camera, etc...

Seems like an elaborate science (psych) experiment to me..

Apparently im the only one watching this show, so ill talk to myself.

Tonights episode was interesting. The investigator warned off the reporter from purueing the story on Janet. But then the investigator tells the police that Janets long lost husband is the reporter! Is he really or is the PI setting up the reporter.

I still dont understand why they havent grabbed the night Manager and beaten him to a pulp. He proved to them he knows something and is working for their enemies. they also know they are being watched and listend to, yet they NEVER whisper amongst themselves.

I'm still watching too.

I really do like this show, but I cannot stand how stupid they make the characters. They know they are being watched constantly, yet none of them are smart enough to keep their plans quiet and just blurt things out so the people that are holding them can hear.

"Hey, let's start a huge fire to try and get attention and while we're at it let's say it out loud so they know our plan."

I had a marathon session last weekend with Persons Unknown.

I also watched this show.

*cricket*

SPOILERS!!! And they're out in the open because I don't think many are watching anyway.

Anywho...

It's grabbed me, and I'm enjoying it.

The reveal of Joe as one of "them" was a big surprise. Although after it was revealed, it seems he was ALWAYS in that bunker. No wonder he got caught.

The characters are growing on me, especially Charlie and Bill, and I thought Charlie (Cameron from Ferris Buller) would be the weaselly pain in the ass, but I really dig his character. Bill is just nuts and might be the next to go.

But the best surprise was the addition of Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica's Dualla) as the tough lesbo ex-con (death row?). Wow... badass... and a great one at that.

The other story that is happening outside of town? The reporter (who looks cross-eyed, no?) trying to find out.. I'm not crazy about that story, but it is moving along quick enough that it isn't dragging. Curious how it will turn out.

Overall, not a bad summer show. Available On Demand if you haven't seen it.

Even though this is basically my own personal thread.. i shall speak my piece.

I thought it was a great show and a great season. Terrific season finale cliffhanger! The second season would have been glorious! Flashbacks with Janets mother and Madam Chairman...backstory on the corporation and its shady characters, developing the inmates past and relationships, much like LOST did in later seasons..and real answers.

Shame this show didnt catch on.
and FUCK NBC for lying to viewers from the get-go "all will be revealed by the end of the summer"...yeah right.

Janet Cooper is hot.

That is all.

this show pissed me off so much. No answers nothing! What is the reason for the program, how do they have so much power if its not a government funded operation, where is this town located etc? There are so many question, no answers! What a waste of time watching this show! I hate shows like this that never make any sense just like Lost. At least with that horse shit show I gave up after 2 weeks.

I dont know how anyone could like how this ended especially knowing there will be no answers, no 2nd season?!

I liked the dark, twist ending. I knew there wasn't going to be a second season so I figured there would be a lot left to the imagination. Robert Picardo had the best cameo ever with that hair! It was a fun show while it lasted.
