Plus I'm still not 100% convinced this isn't a work. Sorry, the show is part wrestling all the time, I'm skeptical.

Sirius basically used him for four years as he propped up a failing co-host who kept callously cashing huge checks and hid behind his tears. I would imagine there's some part of him that's not so happy about that, especially in light of having a very sick child.

But look, I have no connection with any of this. It's a total guess. Dave seems to be a lot more happy-go-lucky than I am. But as a working class stiff, if I were in his spot I'd be eternally pissed at stenty for being such a selfish prick.

I know this is "negative" but it's also reality.

Mattingly was also left handed and he also would crowd the plate while switch-hitting at the batting cages. Dave's on his way.

How long til this horseshit tapers off?

Hopefully not for a while, because it's absolutely true.

I've listened to the show since the late night "Ron and Fez dot com" days in NYC, before I'm accused of being another "new listener" that just doesn't realize how great Fez is. Big A.S.S. card holder.

Fez was great in late night, he was great when NEW bumped them up, he was great on JFK (got the shows in mp3 from a friend every week during their DC days).

He was alright when they started on XM and the Free FM show...but slipping. Post heart attack, he's a shadow of his former self.

I'll always be thankful to him for the entertainment back then, but to reiterate what's been said a thousand times, the show became something else in the past few years. Yes, the name of the show is Ron and Fez...but anyone being halfway honest knows it was Ron and Dave.

Thankfully Hicks is stepping in and taking over for Dave more as the week goes on, because at least he knows what Ron's talking about so Ronnie B has someone to work with.

Five years ago I'd never have thought I'd say it, but my fingers are crossed that when this contract runs out Ron moves into the third era sans Fez.

Ron and Ron begat Ron and Fez begat Ron and Dave, and Fez can try to find another company that wants to pay him the big bucks without anyone else carrying him day after day.

Implying that Dave was "used" by the powers that be as he propped up Fez would indicate a degree of calculation on their part. I find myself skeptical that Siruis/XM management ever viewed the show with any observation, forethought, or plans of action. I would be shocked if they ever even gave a second thought to Dave, Fez, or even the entire show for that matter. Perhaps that opinion isn't even mine as much as the resulting mindset of listening to 6 years of 202 personalities assessments and vocal gripes about their various forms of management.

Bah, a quick way to say that would be "I doubt management gave a enough of a shit to consciously use anyone"..... Fuck, I even ramble on the internet....

I too was a listener when they were on WNEW and lost track of them when they went to DC and then XM, other than getting the occasional nugget in the file library here, and while it does seem that Fez does disappear for a while I still think he's great when he does participate and makes for a great punching bag.

I thought Pepper was a great 4th mike and I hope he doesn't fizzle out being moved to 3rd mike or if some may say 2nd mike.

Fez is great and I'd dread the day he left even if I know that Ron could carry any show on his own.

Who would talk to Iris if/when she ever came back since Ron's always out of the room ?

By the way has there been a recent Iris bit ? I loved those.

Fezitorials are sorely missed as well.

Right tho. The guts of the show likely was never considered. Market share with no promotion? Fuck you. How can that be? They have been scooting along (thanks in big part to Dave).

Whatever.

As a lover of Ron and Fern for the last 34 years now, this has been a constant problem to me.

Ron is brilliant. (Fez is brilliant too. He just needs a date.)

Why the constant attachment to OnA? (Nothing wrong with OnA BTW)

Why the constant attachment to OnA? Ronnie can stand on his own. Easily. He has such an easy, cool and natural style with the biggest of stars.

The world is waiting for the sunrise and is looking for the next Johnny Carson and I know right where he is.

Television is the future!

this is one part i really don't get from the fez-bashing crowd; do you think fez's life experiences disappeared after the heart attacks? as they were never there in the first place, it should be obvious that's not where any perceived problems lay.

I don't know, but most people don't keep hanging around their old jobs once they leave.

except he did those things before there was a job. and lots of former staffers from the show are still around from time-to-time.

Things can change... Perhaps there is still a chance Dave can be brought back. And that is part of the reason he is laying low. The show seems very flat and dull without Dave's input and Ron's interaction with him. That has got to register with someone somewhere as vital to the continuation of the show.

I know this is "negative" but it's also reality.

I think most guys in the biz fewer than five years would be overjoyed at the prospect of all that mic time dropping into their lap and wouldn't have the least bit of resentment of the co-host. If they felt bad at all it would be because they knew they were, at some level, happy that they were able to benefit from his misfortune.

If you add two kids and a wife to support and a two-hour commute into the equation, then the stress might make the same guy begin to resent that he can't do what he wants to do, look around for a scapegoat, and begin to recast his golden opportunity as backbreaking labor.

But the resentment is a function of his added life responsibilities, not being undercompensated for an overwhelming workload.

There is zero justification for blaming or being angry at Fez. I doubt even Dave buys into that in the final analysis, "cocksucker" notwithstanding.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some but for everyone.

Lord, we don't need another mountain,
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross,
Enough to last till the end of time.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

Lord, we don't need another meadow
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh listen, lord, if you want to know.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

No, not just for some, oh, but just for everyone.

It's a mixture of people hoping he'll come back and some of the older fans who know how this stuff turns out from time to time.

Funny part is, we've suspected WAY more wrestling style story lines out of Ron and Fez then they've actually pulled on us. We're just very suspect of them now, in a playful, fun way.

Actually that was just a joke really, there's Dave fans and foes over on Wackbag just like here. Only difference is the people who don't like him over there aren't generally polite enough to be kind about their opinions because its not a Ron and Fez specific forum.

There's people over there that are convinced the show is doomed without Dave. It really runs the same over there, lots of differing view points.

I don't see it as people being demanding or acting like he owes us anything...

I think it's meant as more of a compliment combined with a sigh of sadness wishing he were still around.

Of course I can't speak for the original poster, but I interpret his question more as a way of saying "We miss Dave and wish he was still on the show" than "grumping" or a demand.
