Fez doesn't give a shit that Pepper is now the second mic.
But Pepper should.
I would love to see their pay check amounts at th end of the week.
If I was Pepper I would start giving one word answers.
Let Fez earn his fucking money.
And Ron is a scumbag too. Taking advantage of Pepper by forcing him to be the only producer in the booth and the second mic. Kid makes peanuts compared to Ron and Fez but does twice the work.

I have to say that I agree and with all the nitpicking on here, almost no one has mentioned Ron and his role in this whole fallout. In my opinion, Ron fucked Dave by basically forcing him out because of his loyalty to Fez for whatever crazy reason. It could be contractual agreements or reasons we'll never know, but if Ron really cared about providing the best show possible, he would've forced Fez out and given the second mic to Dave.

Or perhaps there is a hiring freeze? Earl wasn't replaced. Did Ron forces that? Whata nutty thing to assume you know anything that goes on behind that show's curtain.

Did Ron force Dave out or is Special Delivery getting ready for something big, or is Dave really in need of more money and can't get it form Sirius, or is something personal going on in Dave's life that requires hi to leave, or is it all a bit?? We don't know - so calling people out for fucking their staff is some bullshit.

There's a reason why Earl wasn't replaced - and it wasn't a hiring freeze at Sirius/XM -
Earl didn't do anything, so R & F couldn't justify the need to "replace" him.
The only problem I see with the "Ron and Tanley" show is that Tanley is a sycophant who giggles like a school girl everytime Ron inhales, exhales, or answers a phone call. He snickers, chuckles, and guffaws like most people breathe.
If you listen (especially with headphones), Tanley laughs at everything Ron says. Dave used to do that too (to an extent), but at least Dave had more than this:
Tanley quotes: NOTE - THEY ARE NOTHING BUT FEZ-STYLE TRUTH BOMBS!
Tanley doesn't start a conversation, nor does he add insights, challenge anyone, or say anything longer than one sentence. His typical response averages 4 or 5 words.
"I don't think they're going to last, for our generation." (truth bomb)
"That's a huge carbon footprint." (truth bomb)
"Once or twice."
"D'oh Yeah." (Homer Simpson?)
"I don't know, Cameron Diaz gettin' fucked in the ocean." (truth bomb)

"Looks like, uh, what does it look like?" (?????????????)

How exactly did Ron force anything on Dave? Dave would've done the show for free, it was his dream. Dave made the decision to leave. Ron cant allocate Fez' salary to Dave. Their job is to produce the show, everything else is handled by Sirius. If Fez quit there's no garuntee that they'd be allowed to move Dave in. Earl quit and they just cut the number of producers, if you remember they were pushing to bring Mooch in.

Ron knows Fez is disabled, but he and Fez are stuck together in a partnership contract. Sirius knows Fez is disabled, but they're holding Ron and Fez to the contract. Ron said himself that he'd cut his arm off to get out of the contract, but he can't.
When their contract is up for renewal there will be big changes. Either Ron will go solo or will create a new team, or perhaps he may use Fez in a reduced role. But Ron's not going to pay Fez big bucks anymore to sit silently.
Ron's fully aware that Fez has hit rock bottom. He's just got carry him through the end of the contract and hope that Sirius will want to retain him (Ron).

Earl didn't do anything ON THE AIR. You can't claim to know, as a listener, what the true value of Earl was. Earl left a position vacant, whether or not he fulfilled his duties (I'd venture to guess he did) that position should have been filled.
But let me ask you this: If Earl wasn't replaced because he didn't do anything, why isn't there much talk of Dave being replaced? We know he worked, the bosses know he worked, R&F know he worked - and yet, the show that handles a lot of it's business on air, or at the very least discusses it (whether it's real or not), is silent as to what they're doing to replace Dave. How do you explain that?

If you are getting $10 an hour in Manhattan and probably work for hours that you don't get paid for and no overtime pay and you are the 2nd mic (Fez being the 3rd) you should be paid at least $200K.

How do you explain that?
To the first part -
Earl's worthlessness was constantly challenged by both R&F and O&A staffs. The story on Earl was that he stayed late into the night, but did little more than eat crackers, screw up the TVs that were taping shows for clips on O&A, and steal CDs and signed art. Earl was famous for not getting results. He got lost on the way to a WOW sticker stop; he got blocked in during a Star Wars Phantom Menace opening "assault," and he couldn't get into the studio on snow days because he had "cold feet." Earl was never appreciated. He was soundly ridiculed, and his off air laziness was regularly discussed on air.
To the second part-
There is no evidence that Dave is not coming back. I would not be surprised that his hiatus is just that - a temporary vacation. Moreover, Chris Stanley has clearly taken 2nd mic position (even though he isn't getting the job done), and has (to some extent) filled the void that Dave has left. HTG and Earl have come back in a limited way since Dave has left. The show just got new interns (the day after Dave left). These interns can fill production roles on the show. Chris can clearly both produce and have some kind of on air presence. Fez is speaking more - out of necessity. Maybe the wound is too fresh. If Dave did leave for good (which I cannot believe), then it's cold to just swap someone new in when the body is still warm. On top of that, Ron has made it clear that they're "not looking for someone just like Dave" to replace Dave. I don't think it's a matter of pure economics.
As a post-script -
I loved Earl as a bufoon on the show. To me, he wasn't "worthless," as he was the butt of countless jokes, and was a great comic foil for Dave, Ron, Opie and Anthony, etc.
He was just an impotent, pathetic shell of a man who couldn't get the off air job done - except for decent production on Ron Bennington Interviews. That much I'll give him.

It's not just what Hicks says, but TIMING. Fez has lost any sense of timing, cadence, or delivery. He just doesn't have "it" anymore unfortunately. Compiling a list of quotes and comparing them to Fez is a bit disingenuous. It also completely misses the point. Hicks is not on-air talent. He is a producer helping out on air.
Yes, some of what he says is "filler," but the man has had some great lines, and I have been very happy with his on air performance.

I get your point about the distinction between "on air talent" and "fill in producer," but it's still the major leagues of radio, and you don't send in a quarterback or a wide receiver to play in an official game and then excuse it by saying he's 2nd string or 3rd string.
Chris is the "golden orphan" - which means to me, he can do no wrong. Ron has given him a kind of "legendary status" that he doesn't deserve. Ron has protected him from the beginning of his time on the show.
I only compare Chris and Fez's lines to show that anytime Fez says something that is obvious, Ron calls it a "truth bomb." Anytime Chris says the obvious, it's "gold."
As for Stanley having gotten off great lines, I'd like to see some evidence of that claim.
I get the point of "Ron Bennington's Line of the Day" thread, but I don't see one for Chris Stanley any time soon.

Holy shit...I always wondered if Pepper and Chris Tanley were the same person, and now I know!!! Does Ron purposely try and make them seem like different people??? As he never has called him Chris Pepper Hicks Tanley...I was about to start a thread saying I suspect they are the same guy....douche chills....:wallbash:
I think Fez does a LOT more behind the scenes to keep the show running than people would care to admit. And this is all administrative stuff that Ron does NOT want to have to deal with and he gladly lets Fez handle it. And I still hold that Fez is picking up some off the mic stuff that Dave leaving left a void for... Ronnie probably wants Fez to do that if he harbors any ill will to Fez for Dave leaving (whether that is true or not).
Just think when was the last time Ronnie handled or cared about any advertising or live read?
But I have no facts to back any of this up, just some thoughts and impressions I glean from reading between the lines, but it could all be wrong and whatever, life goes on and so does the Ron & Whoever show.

I hear it sometimes, but I tend to think it's a bit to string the audience along. You don't have to look far to find clips of Ron *actually* losing his temper on the radio, and the shit he says to Fez bears no resemblance to it. As much as I miss Dave, I heard Fez stepping up a lot last week. I need to catch up with the shows since Tuesday to see how the show went this week.
