In defense of the flight attendant people with carry-ons are becoming more and more obnoxious. I flew out to the west coast recently and the airline made numerous announcements about how you are allowed two carry-ons but only one can go in the overhead compartment. Well sure enough, here comes this guy on the plane with two suitcases and he's trying to stuff them in the overhead bin. When the flight attendant reiterated the policy he got all huffy. I told the guy to stop being cheap and spend the $20 to check a bag next time.

Agreed. I see that all the time. Not to mention the assholes who stand up before the plane comes to a stop. Not only are they at risk of hurting themselves, but there's a good chance they're going to lose their balance and have their carry-on hit someone who is seated.

Now that the airlines charge for checked luggage, everyone seems to try to carry the same luggage on.
They all try the larger than approved carry on, messenger bag/computer bag, and a smaller bag.
Then it is a real surprise that the overhead bins are full before everyone is on board.
Had a lady the other day, just grab my bag out of the overhead bin and move to the other side of aisle, as I watched, so she could jam her large bag in it. When she was done, she looked at me and asked if it was ok.
