Hey, look, I made it through having another organ removed as well as others completely rearranged. Now i'm preparing to move across the country. Again. I am leaving AZ on October 8th. I don't have a job waiting, but I have a few promising leads, esp. since it'll be the beginning of the fiscal year for gov't. If i'm really desperate, i'll give in and work on base at Quantico. Aside from that, i'm turning 30 the following month, and will be celebrating in NYC.

So, i took the southern most route last time I drove because I hit every snow storm, ice storm and accident ridden road trying to detour away from the a snow storms, ice storms and accident ridden roads. This time, I think i'm going to take the 17 up through flagstaff and albuquerque In early October, this should be safe, right? Anyone with experience have advice? I'll be traveling with 2 dogs, a ferret, and clumsy redhead. Sorry, the redhead is already spoken for, i'm just borrowing her :)

Yeah dude, this is the route u wanna take. I know u said you're not workin' so, I don't know how strapped for ca$h u r. Or how much traveling you've done. But I feel u should take advantage of your situation and check out Amarillo, OKC, Memphis, and/or Nashville. And I hope this goes without sayin', but I'll throw it in anyways- When I say check out, I mean boots on the ground, no TGIChilisApplebFuddrucking Bullshit, I mean dives and soulfood joints. And if u never stopped at that Big Texan don't let all that talk of "How good can a 72 oz steak be?"throw u off, 1st off I think u'd have to be an idiot glutton masochist to even try, the guys we saw were dummies who didn't even knock a dent in it, and even if u did it u will regret it at some point. However, the prime rib was small and delicious. Happy Traveling.

I drove from san diego back to ct a few weeks ago and after albequerque we hopped on route 54 thru texas and oklahoma into wichita. There's not a whole lot to see besides the occasional cattle ranches and farms among otherwise barren land, but you're actually on a local road, so you go thru real towns with real ppl every once and a while. The rest of the trip we were on interstates and you can only do so many rest stops before you want to kill yourself. Avoid the interstates as much as possible if you want to enjoy yourself

I'm going to have 2 dogs,a ferret and a clumsy woman in my car, can't really go site seeing or eat inside restaurants. I just need safe roads, good weather, and upperscale hotels...and many places for 2 dogs to do their business. If i take the southern route, i can hit el paso (uncle Al hunting) and visit a friend in austin, but i just want to get across the country as fast as possible. I have a job right now, so money will be ok long enough to get me home and into at least a contracting position. :) I think I need to pick up a CB this time, so we can party with the truckers and get a early spot on cops. Wheeeeee!

Just remember that a hurricane MIGHT be hitting the east coast this weekend, VA included so make sure you take that into your plans. Safe trip!

yeah, that CB can be fun, but u gotta have a sense of humor, just remember this-TRUCK DRIVERS ARE ASSHOLES. As for Unkle Al, he's usually way out east of Hell Paso near Fabens/Tornillo and well known for his flakiness. U might wanna google dog friendly places b4 u go, I know there are a lot, because I've stayed at places all along there where people were haulin' horses and got them out (and their dogs, too) at night when they stopped and in the morning again then load 'em all up and took off.

So what does he do? Have someone else read him the stuff and dictate his reply? Maybe he just faceroll's the keyboard in hopes of crafting a somewhat intelligent response, then just spell check's it, allowing the computer to make sense of it all?

I'm so confused.

I wouldn't need the redhead if i was flying back. she's flying to AZ to drive back with me so I don't have to sleep with my gun for 3-4 nights and don't have to panic about leaving the animals in the car alone while I take breaks. It's more about the animals. I don't mind sleeping with my Mossberg. It's so sexy!

It's about as unlikely as using sentance in a sentence.
