Enough with the bravado. I want to see real football going 100%.

Clowney was cut today and Chauncey Washington is waived to the practice team, it looks like - spot for Danny Woodhead seems secure.

I wonder who the unlucky soul is that is keeping the roster spot for Revis warm.

What the fuck does this play like a Jet even fucking mean?

Did i miss the fact that the org has 8 superbowls in their history?

I would hope for Jet fans sake, with the team's abysmal history, that they don't play like "A Fucking Jet".

Strokes of luck?

They out played the pats and bills both those games, granted the Pats more than Bills.

And guess what, missed FGs happen.

They won both games with great D.

Giants are not the best org of all time but they have done much more than the Jets and you dont hear shit from them.

Sure you hear some talks from some players but NEVER the whole team top to bottom.

Comparing the Jets and Giants is like comparing Namath to Bart Starr.

Yea, good comeback.

And as for T-Rich.. Not a great move..

Conner looked real good but from watching Hard Knocks, your team seems to have some probs with leadership.. I'm not sure cutting a leader like that is a smart move.

Its not like its a cap year and you HAD to cut him. He was not making that much.

Right. It's all Rex who got into Revis' head about this. It wasn't the Revis Island nickname, it wasn't everyone sucking his cock after he shut down Ochocinco twice in three weeks last year on national TV, IT'S ALL REX RYAN'S FAULT, YOU FUCKING TOOL.

FYI:

Nick Mangold had a contract dispute too. He's widely regarded as one of the best centers in the AFC, if not the league. He could have held out.

He showed up to camp.

He got a new contract.

So stop like this is Rex's fault. Because it's not.

Yes it has alot to do with Rex, dipshit.

He filled his head all year last year by opening up his big fat mouth most of the year and especialy towards the end.

He called him by far the best def player in the NFL and kept on doing it.

Thats when the media joined and started blowing him too.

Guess what, you open up your big fat mouth and call him the best, now you have to pay him like he is the best.

it is by far mostly Rex's fault. He was blowing him up way before he played Ocho. The games with Ocho were week 16 and the playoffs? Rex gave him a blowy as early as week 5 when the Jets started out hot. He wouldnt shut up with how good he was as well as how good Sanchez was playing as a rookie (that bit him in the ass too).

Rex needs to have his jaw wired shut. This way he could lose the extra 200lbs he need to and so he can stop sucking his players dick. With the way he has talked about John Connor, that kid will be asking for 5 years 25 million next off season and hes only a rookie FB!

Here's the thing:

Most Jet fans think he should be paid because he IS the best defender in the league.

BECAUSE HE IS.

The problem is, even with all of Rex's praise, nobody fucking knew that Al Davis was gonna give Nnamdi Asomugha that ridiculous extension and completely screw up the market.

So now the market is overpriced, a player wants to be the highest paid player because someone ELSE overpriced the market, and here we are.

Al Davis paid Nnamdi Asomugha 2 years ago before the 2009 season before fat Rex was even hired. So Al Davis had nothing to do with this. Also Revis doesnt want to JUST be the highest paid DB if he did he would take the 3 or 4 years he is offered. He wants 10 years 160 million. Thats not what Davis paid Asomugha. He is only getting 3 years 45 million. Stop blaming Al and blame Rex and the owner!

[citation needed] again, and you can't prove shit until the contract is worked out. The 10/160 number is a number thrown out by "sources" who also reported that LeBron was going to the Knicks or the Yankees were never signing A-Rod.

And for what it's worth, Schefter just confirmed that Rex met with Revis this weekend.

1) Like you haven't been proven wrong on shit before? Revis is also 2 years younger than Asmugha and may wanted more security even though the lockout is looming. Revis went to Pitt, not known for turning out intelligent football players. See Marino, Dan.

2) Actually, the person who was reporting the Revis signing was Comlishaw. ESPN reported on Comlishaw when Schefter was like, I don't know what the fuck he's talking about.

Point being: I trust Schefter over Comlishaw.

2 things interesting accoring to the ESPN article..

1 The Rex talks in South Fla did not seem to have gone anywhere.. This was an 11th hour attempt to get Revis to take THEIR offer.

2. Revis is pissed that the Jets promised to make Revis the highest paid D player in the league and are not living up to it..

Thats pretty stupid of them if they did.

I also assuming that they said it before the Raider deal..

Still, its a pretty dumb promise, IF they made it..

When I played him he was the #2 back. If you're saying they only play the #1 back you are making my point about Greene.Who made fumbles at key times back then.

And as for who else they have in the backfield. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington were let go. Their O line must be killer to run through so many backs. From just last season. (or maybe the bone headed coach don't know how to rotate backs so the #1 guys don't get killed). Some of both is my guess.

One more thing why are the Jets being vultures? Picking other teams cut players. Are their own in house players that bad?

Does he really?

He still had a year left on his deal for $1MM per. He had some leverage there, but not much. Plus all of the players are looking at that potential lockout next year right in the face so guaranteed money is at a premium.

If you factor in this year's existing contract for 1, he got a 3/45 extension with a majority of it being guaranteed.

I would say that he used his leverage to its maximum.

When I played him he was the #2 back. If you're saying they only play the #1 back you are making my point about Greene.Who made fumbles at key times back then.

1) The Jets' #2 back was Leon Washington last year, who went on IR after week 7.

2) How big was your fantasy league that you had to take the backup RB on a team with a 2000 yard rusher last year? Did you have like 50 teams in it?

Greene had three fumbles last year, and only one of them was in a Jets loss.

Greene and Tomlinson are two distinctly different backs that are going to give the Jets O a bunch of different looks this year.

And the Jets resign T-Rich, so people are now scratching their heads why this drama happened in the first place.

Brian Jackson, the rookie who got waterboarded on Hard Knocks, got cut for Revis.

No, from what I read, it boiled down to this:

T-Rich is a vested veteran, so when they cut him, he's not exposed to waivers, he becomes an outright FA.

The strategy was to make room for waiver claims, make the room for Revis, then bring back T-Rich without exposing him to another team.

Didn't you say they cut the rook to make room for Revis?

Or was that just dump a DB because we did not need one anymore?

Can't wait to see this whole thing on Hard Knocks and how it went down.

9/5 Patrick Brown T acquired from waivers
9/5 David Clowney WR cut

He is as healthy as he is going to be which means he might be hurt by week 10! I think Miami has potential to get 10 or 11 wins but I think they go 8-8 or 9-7 and keep games close and interesting. They are probably 1 year away from truly contending for a Super Bowl. If they made it to the playoffs I wouldnt be surprised and hope they do!

Now onto the Jets I think they go 7-9 and will be so happy to see them look like fools after all their self promotion and self hype they created!

I just finished watching the Hard Knocks finale. The way they talk about Revis and treat him you think he is the greatest DB ever. Maybe Im missing something but he had 1 great year (last year) what has he ever done before that? The best cover corner I have ever seen was Deion Sanders, Revis isnt even close to how dominate Deion was. But the way he is talked about by that team and their fans you would think he is!

This is one big set up for disaster for this team and I love it!

To be fair..

Deon was fantastic but the rules were much different when he was at his best.

You were basicaly allowed to mug the WR during the play and nothing got called..

Revis last year had one of the best years i have ever seen as a DB when you take the rules and other things into effect..

Now you touch a guy, and you will get flagged.

Kevin
09-09-2010, 01:23 AM
If the Jets fail, It will be for many other reasons, Sanchez being the main one i think..

The D getting few sacks and To's and scoring on those To's.

But Revis is pretty damn fucking good...

I cant agree with that. Yes the rules have changed but when did Deion ever mug anyone, he was just a shadow and did it like no one before. Who is faster Revis or Deion? I think Deion is, hell I think Deions backward 40 is faster then Revis running forward.

We are also talking about 7-8 years being the best cover guy in the league, Revis has done it 1 year.

Deion is faster prob even now..

Revis does not have that one great physical skill like Deion had. Nor is he real tall.. Like 5'11 ish.. But he has great instincts and plays the ball like a WR instead of a CB...

I'm pretty sure Deion got away with alot of bumping shit too..

I'm not sure if they had the 5 yrd rule back then either.

Deion was better though, no question.. And Revis def have to do it more.

Very Good D, but not many Turnovers caused, that means you will deal with Punts and not the best field position.... No Thomas Jones to Soften up the D, who knows if Greene will be theat good with a fresh D, and dont forget he broke down in the playoffs.... You have LT who is playing with confidence like its 2007, but he is old and will take a beating, he will not have the stamina and will be a whining baby on the bench come week 14.. You do have 3 good to great WR, too bad Sanchez is throwing to them

as for Sanchez

I like your post, it sounds like you are a Jets fan who at least can see the problems! When Sanchez was sending the plays last night to Brunell at QB and they scored with 2 different pass plays I thought to myself Brunell should be the QB. When Sanchez was bragging to the O Coordinator that his job was easy all I could think was "Not when Sanchez is at QB".Brunell still can throw the ball with nice touch. They probably would have a better chance at the playoffs with him behind center.

As for Greene. He is another player that is so over-hyped its amazing. He had a couple of good weeks last year and in the playoffs. But he didnt tear of the joint he was just a servicable RB not a star. In my fantasy league he was drafted with the 19 overall pick (5th pick of the 2nd round) Mendenahall, was available, Benson, Miles Austin, Reggie Wayne, Ryan Grant, Marshall, Tom Brady etc. There is too much undeserving hype for this entire team!

This is all I can think everytime I hear them talk about the guy.

Deion shut down an entire side of the field in a game ( I think it was when he was on SF and they played Dallas ) and when they did go his way he picked it and ran it in for a TD.

He did stuff like that constantly.

We'll see how he does against Moss in the 2 games this year because i'm sure Moss/Brady want to make him, as well as the Jets, look bad.

Incidentally Sanders was at an event at my job today and the subject of peed came up and he referred to himself at some point.

I think he belives that Chris Johnson is the fastest guy right now but he might've meant only RBs because I'm sure some DB is faster.

You're a fucking idiot. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Olson)

also id like to point out that you had to go back TWENTY FUCKIN YEARS to find this. Yea, happens all the time

You seriously don't know about the Lisa Olson incident? Really?

The reason why it happened 20 years ago is because the NFL basically told the players to stop acting like animals.

Did anyone do anything to Sainz like what happened to Olson? Hell no.

And considering how suspension-happy Roger Goodell is, if there was something more to this than false outrage by sportswriters, he would have nailed asses to the wall.

The woman portrays herself as "Mexico's Sexiest Sports Reporter". How did you think this was gonna play out?

It wouldn't matter how she branded herself. The Jets should've been smarter than that...but their coaching staff appears to have started it.

I would think that this would concern Jets fans about the maturity of their locker room, in light of the fact that they are selling themselves as Super Bowl contenders.

Actually, from the time line of events, Sainz was asking dumb questions during the press conference to Rex. That's the first part.

Then during practice, they weren't throwing AT her. They were throwing NEAR her so players could get the ball and flirt with her. See the recent Corona commercial for example.

So that gives Rex Ryan free reign to act like an asshole and turn his coaching staff on her?

Come on, you are just trying to justify Rex Ryan acting like a bigger caveman than his old man.

Since when is football nuclear physics?

Rex is the coach you hate unless he's coaching for you. To be honest, he's the best coach the Jets have had since Parcells, even though he's 9-8.

Rex is who he is. So what. A culture of change was needed after Mangini.

It was an obvious joke/for fun because they could be serious knowing they werent going undefeated because if my memory is correct they lost on Monday night to the Miami Dolphins 31-17, which by the way was also the highest rated MNF game ever.

good to see the NY Jets continuing to be a classy organization:

MIAMI -- Embattled wide receiver Braylon Edwards won't start for the New York Jets Sunday night against the Miami Dolphins, but not because of his drunken-driving arrest.

It's because of when he was arrested, according to Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

"We felt he didn't deserve to start based on the fact that ... not for the arrest as much as going out and being out until 5 in the morning," Tannenbaum said Sunday morning as a guest of Ian O'Connor on 1050 ESPN Radio.

really? Not cause he was arrested for DRUNK DRIVING. Its just cause he was out at 5 am. yea ok

If LDT keeps up this level of production though, he's still an upgrade over Leon. You can't slobber Leon's knob for two KR TDs in the same game ... outside of that, he's done nothing.
