View Full Version : Ron's obscure Rolling Stones songs

Ron played a really good (but somewhat obscure) Rolling Stones song recently, and I recall that another Stones song that isn't often heard was discussed and played when Dave was still around. I think the latter was from SATANIC MAJESTIES.
Can anyone name the songs I'm thinking of? Meant to scrawl them down but didn't get a round tuit.

I'm gonna guess that "Sway" was the one that was played recently and "Moonlight Mile" is the one that they used to play when Dave was around... it's one of Dave's favorites.

Yeah, "Sway" from Sticky Fingers was played yesterday. He's also played the live version of "Midnight Rambler" from Get Your Ya-Yas Out.

An innocent victim of blind justice, falsely convicted for the murder of his wife; reprieved by fate when a train wreck freed him en route to the death house. Freed him to hide in lonely desperation, to change his identity, to toil at many jobs. Freed him to search for a one-armed man he saw leave the scene of the crime. Freed him to run before the relentless pursuit of the police lieutenant obsessed with his capture.

yep, I just heard Sway but Satantic Majesties is a decent album. Not quite at the level of Beggar's Banquet, Exile, Sticky Fingers but still worth listening to.

They played a song called Gimme Shelter about a week ago. You should check it out.

The one I heard a few days back sounded like something off the new re release Exile disk 2. It's all unreleased stuff.

Ron's played 'Sweet Virginia' a number of times ... was it that? I haven't heard the show yet.

There was a song that they played coming back from break today that had a female singer. The song is kinda new but it sounds a little bit like 80's New Wave. It was playing around the time that the fuck me Ray Bradbury song was playing. Is there a rundown of the songs played during the show? Thanks.

Isn't Mick a female singer?
