cant wait to see this movie. Mickey Ward had 3 of the best fight you could ever see against Arturo Gatti. I hope they dive in that and the friendship that they created after their fights!I never knew much about this back story with his brother so this should be even more interesting then I thought.

Gotti won the last two of the three, but they were all incredible fights. Ward retired after the third fight i believe, but had an impressive record of 38-13 with 27 KO's
i'm guessing though, for the movie viewers sake, they'll finish the movie on a high note with Wards victory in the first fight. i wouldn't want to sit there and watch two more fight montages knowing Ward loses both of them.

for some reason, these happened to be some of the only boxing matches i have seen in the last 10 years or so, and they were just terrific. they almost seemed fake, like scenes from rocky.

yeah they beat the shit out of each other. I think 2 of the 3 fights won fight of the year for the entire sport of boxing. Thats insane! I loved Gotti he had more heart then most fighters. I went to see him fight in AC multiple times and every fight was none stop action. Its a shame he died and I bet there would be a good movie to be made about his life if someone wanted to make it.
The funny thing about Ward and Gotti is they beat the shit out of each other yet by the end of the 3rd fight they became friends and Ward even helped train Gotti for a couple of his last fights and he was seen at ever Gotti fight till he died.

Just watched this movie, All i could think of was ronnie b.'s impression of christian bale. Fuckin' A though, i think he's right, his performance is oscar worthy and the dude is a master of accents. i love the roles he chooses. It's hard for me to think of one he's been in that i haven't liked(haven't finished terminator salvation though). This guy might be our greateste greatest actor we have under 40? Mark walhberg though? He was good in the role but i dont think he's very versatile, just my two cents.

Bale stole the movie, I really liked it but I might be biased.

Watched it last night. Bale deserves an Oscar. He nailed the crackhead role. I swear to God there were times, especially when he kept jumping out of the window, that I asked myself "Was this fucker hanging out with my brother to research this role???" Unreal.
I was dissapointed that they didnt show any of the Gatti fights though. I mean, thats what MADE him. Its kind of like having the movie Secretariat end before he wins The Belmont.
