And stop brining in the "Whack Pack" every time you have comics on the show that are on a roll. It sucks the funny right out of the show. Nobody cares about some intern or bobo. Sometimes I wonder why Anthony dosen't speak up and say no when Opie says how about we bring in ______.

He doesn't understand the whole concept of a "viral video". You can't try to make a video viral -- people on the Internet are good at sniffing that out. It's just some video someone posts, and it catches on for no apparent reason. It just happens on its own, and you can't make it happen, no matter how much you try.

I like Ira but that's because I like The Jay Thomas show, but it's old hat that every time they have a guest it's lets roll in the freak show. Could be why they don't get guests anymore because the guests rather have the show centered around them for the time they are there instead of he look at our freaks. I would have loved to hear more from that Irish comic they had on yesterday but you could tell as soon as the intern kid was brought in he wanted nothing to do with it. The Irish guy even tried to bail. (I forget the guys name)

I think they will re-sign. It's their only option if they want to continue doing radio. There are no more FM stations for them to go to. They can't do a podcast because they haven't planed it out yet. There would be a lot of work for them to do in order to start a internet only show. I remember a few months ago Adam Carolla was on Howard Stern and he said in order for him to do his podcast he pays something like $10,000 a month out of pocket in hosting bills and he has sponsors and does live gigs to make money. If they went the podcast route they would need some time to plan it all out it's not like they could just start doing one the day after they are off Sirius/XM.

By "good", I merely mean one that they would begrudgingly accept. Anthony is ok, he lives like WT, so he should be able to continue that. Opie has a wife and kid to worry about. Norton will just have to hustle more; get more comedy, TV, movie gigs.

Exactly. That's why I think Opie sounds really pathetic doing all of this public whining. They have nowhere else to go. Sirius is the only realistic option they have left. I have a feeling O&A would take a significant pay cut to stay on satellite before swallowing their pride and doing a podcast.

Frankly, I'm so indifferent about the show these days that I don't really care what happens anymore. I finally decided that sitting through the same rants every day to get to the funny bits isn't worth the frustration. I spend more time rolling my eyes at my radio than I do laughing at it.

didn't the indecency fines or criteria just get altered. regular radio might be opening back up a little bit.

there is a ton of money in big market radio. maybe they go back to afternoon drive, name me 1 station besides WFAN that has a known afternoon drive show in the NYC market. they can find somewhere on a struggling station to go.

O&A's FM markets were dropping like flies several years ago, eventually ending with their home station dropping them. I don't see how the current radio climate is any better. If they managed to cut a deal with terrestrial, I can't imagine them making as much money as they are now with Sirius. What FM markets would put up that kind of money for them?

I dont get this either. Just because their mornings on Free FM didnt work out, doesnt mean they cant get work. There are plenty of markets and afternoon timeslots where they could work. But I have a really hard time believing that any FM station would give them an offer that matches what Sirius is paying them now. Even if they aren't happy with what Sirius is offering them, do you think they would take a pay cut to do an FCC-compliant show on FM radio again?

Well Hot Talk on FM is dead. There aren't any stations for them to go to. The only non sports talk station I know of is the one we have here in Orlando. I don't think Opie and Anthony will move to continue their radio careers. Where would they go to in NYC? Hot 97 Power 105, KTU, Z100 Q104 they don't fit anywhere.

They aren't going to pick up and move to another market to do radio. Both own their places where they live in NY. I don't see them picking up and starting over again in another city. Then they get to a new city and sit there each month wondering if they will be let go because of ratings or a format switch.
