How long should I wait until calling the authorities for a health and welfare check on a coworker? He was supposed to work last night but called in to say he was going to be late as he wasn't feeling good. He never showed up, didn't call and now is not answering text messages. It's been about 10 hours since he talked to someone at work and I am a little worried. I watch shows like the First 48 and it seems this kind of thing never ends well but I don't want to seem like I am over reacting since we are only aquainted through work.

Since he broke an appointment with you (at work), why not stop by the house? I would feel fine doing so, and what harm could it do? Bring a Sports Illustrated just in case he's not dead.

does your job have an hr department? let them do the dirty work of seeing if he's dead or not.

You can act like a man and mind your own business.

It's been two months now, has anyone checked on this guy?

I think joeyballsack checked on him, and the murderer got him, too.

Oh the humanity! I told him not to go in that creepy house. The wind is always blowing there, and scary music comes from somewhere in the basement. Will they never learn? I bet he tripped and sprained his ankle while trying to run away too.

No. It was the dreaded burnt out basement light bulb/broken step combination.

Should've known. Well, he got what he deserved. Shouldn't have gone poking his nose where it didn't belong.

I hear joeyballsack was looking out his window after he broke his leg in the 1950's and saw the murder take place.
