Eh, I kinda gave up on that a couple years ago. I realized I was hating on the guy but really I don't even have his radio show on in my area anymore. I mean The Don and Mike Show sucked in ways scientists can't even measure yet, but really he was on and failed in the NYC market a long time ago. As long as I don't have to hear his dogshit radio, I can just let it go.

I don't really know much about him since he left Don & Mike. Dave is a young guy on satellite radio, who aggressively (and quite effectively) promotes himself on Twitter.

That and I'll bet Don's radio station has some crazy thing called a website you know one central place where most of his web presence takes place. In the 202 world that shit is crazy websites are overrated they take time/effort/money to build and since the shows are to dumb/lazy/cheap to negotiate their intellectual property when contract time rolls around they have to use 20 different FREE social networks that require zero effort compared to maintaining a basic website.

He got those ratings before Twitter was created. He was "retired" when Twitter came into being. I don't know anything about the podcast. To be honest, the only thing I know about the D&M show was the off and on two hours I'd listen to them while waiting for Ron & Fez to come on at 7 at WJFK. It was background radio for me.

And by "rising star" (regarding Dave), I meant that he is still aggressively using Twitter to try to improve his radio presence. He's still on satellite (though to a much lesser degree for the time being).

Dave uses the Internet to try to move on to bigger and better things. Hell... With thousands of Facebook friends, he still managed to with me a happy birthday today. He's very active online. As far as I can tell, Geronimo is only using the Internet to keep a negligible presence. He's probably only doing any radio at all, just because he'd be bored out of his mind if he completely walked away from it.

Sort of. I don't really have much of an opinion at all about if he's good. I'm just arguing that it makes logical sense why someone like Dave would have a bigger following. Don's fan base isnt really the computer / social networking type. They are a bit older and not so dependant on technology or in need boosting their ego by using the internet...at least, not as much as some shows or today's "rising stars" -

Don and Mike never had to rely on using the internet to stay employed or get work like dave ... or some shows. They relied on ratings and big fat contracts that probably never included the phrase " online presence"-

regarding Dave's twitter, has all this internet marketing by Dave done anything to help his career in radio or help his bank account? Didnt seem to matter much when all those fans of his of his wrote to sirius begging for him to stay on 202...

Also at the end of the day, Don has made more money in the last 10 years than Dave will make in his lifetime. And Don did that without the use of Satellite radio and the Internet.
