not saying that but I dont understand why they dont list what they are mixed with. They always say mixed. Some people want nothing to do with pits or their mixed breeds. It would be better to tell the truth from the start so people can make their own informed decision!

This comment ain't gonna be popular, logic never is. If you donate to a shelter that euthanizes-STOP. It's lunacy to take in animals and, if not adopted in a arbitrary amount time, kill them to make room to take in more animals. Would you rather live on the street eating out of dumpsters or have a nice room on death row? Shelters lie, most of the people who work there are delusional and like collecting animals like they are property.

Privately-owned shelters? Maybe. But it's delusional to think that there is such a thing as a no-kill shelter.

I used to volunteer at a shelter where the paperwork on pits was intentionally vague because some home insurance companies have a blanket policy that denies coverage to owners of pits, regardless of incident. Having papers that say it's a mix make it at least slightly more likely that you wont lose coverage. In all of these cases this issue in particular and the actual breed of the dog was discussed in depth with the adopter.

Bravo. The shelter I volunteered for was no kill, I stopped volunteering for them when they became "limited euthanize" The only problem with no kill shelters is that the inbound flow of animals never slows down and you're getting in a few animals that cannot be adopted in each bunch, those animals eventually stack up, particularly cats, holy shit we had a ton of feral cats.
For these 2 lab puppies there is little to no chance they'll get put down, they'll move and animals that move get adoption fees.
