This isn't going to cost you any money, it's just making some networks (I'm looking at YOU AMC!) keep their ads at the same level as their programming.

It's nothing like regulation and you know it.

what is wrong with having regulations to keep things the same for all ads? Its almost like you are bitching just to bitch. Your creating a fox news faux overreacting story out of nothing!

It is useless regulation. Are you losing your hearing over snuggie commercials?

You'd be surprised how many people complain about it. This has been a problem for a decade, worldwide, for millions of people. Networks can crank up the volume on ads to get people's attention. No one says they can't. Look it up if you don't believe me, but I work in television and I've heard about this problem for years.

This is a quick fix that will benefit people. Your complaint is baseless... or....

Since the very minute I joined this board I've been saying
that Furtherman would lead this country to its demise.

I lost quite a bit of my hearing 2 years ago. When the TV is on Sarah and I are both watching something I just crank the volume instead of putting on CC so she doesn't have to read along with the show. Those commercials are the bane of my fucking existence.

Thank god they did something about it finally. It's been getting really bad the last couple years.

I'm with you. It's insanely annoying. I'll be falling asleep watching TV then suddenly the volume skyrockets.

I find it to be the worst on TBS and AMC.

We don't watch anything on either of those channels now. TNT is also particularly awful. Comedy Central is pretty bad but only when compared to itself, seems like everything on that channel is way lower than every other channel.

Seems like a minor annoyance (if even that) and silly to regulate. In the end, no big woop either way.

Damn close. Some networks have commercials so loud, it wakes up the whole house. It's fucking ridiculous.

Dude!

You have far too much anger in your life.

Read the actual minutes of congress. This is nothing compared to what they normally do.

Unfortunately, this is the ONLY type of legislation you can get through the Senate right now. Blame the filibuster.
