I'm not disagreeing with your point either. You're stupid if you have anything incriminating on facebook. But it's definitely scummy to dig into an employees personal life for reasons to fire them.

The only way it's kinda sorta acceptable is if the person's work is suffering. If they're showing up on time and performing, it shouldn't matter if they have a picture on facebook doing a keg stand.

one of my daughters is student teaching right now in a program that is extremely hard to get in and the only way to get that degree at her school...a classmate posted that she was going to "baby sit the brats" as her status and they kicked her out of the program, meaning she had to change majors and will no longer graduate this year...
