View Full Version : Last Nights Interview Reminded Me of DotCom Days
Last Night's Interview with Eric (the protester) was really hilarious stuff. I felt like I was being warped back into time and listening to Ron and Fez...DOT COM! Maybe it was nostalgia, or maybe it was just that I was finishing off a bottle of bourbon, but I think it was definitely classic Ron and FezT.
I liked how they were able to maintain the interview on a serious level, and yet intermittently wisecrack on the poor bastard without making him angry and hanging up. That's the problem with a lot of radio "interviews", the Jock doesn't know how to give a serious interview because he/she goes to the punchline too quickly, and ends up destroying the bit. Getting a really cheap joke in is great, but to prolong the whole interview, while subvertly peppering it with comedy and keeping the listeners entertained, is a remarkable feat. The interview on last night was like a great Symphony, and the guy was played like Paganini playing a Stradivarius - thanks to the genius artistry of Ron and Fez. Bravo Guys!!!

It was cool. I wish it was early on the show , then it would have been longer.

they kept it serious but that guy had the dorkiest voice I've ever heard.

Not to mention he had friends out the ass.
Too bad he died from bad meat in a can.

It also reminded me of the early mid-days when Al was a new and hungry producer and got lots of lame guests (like the chick who was protesting the the Circus)

Dan, the circus protester brought up some great memories. Between the Ron, Fez and the callers it was a great interview.

My favorite will always be the interview with the Beauty Contest Lady. Classic!

I was 13 and i was listening to dot com days and those were the best months of my life. (Im 15 now and they were ok months not great)
Remember in the DotCom Era when they had Marty Kroft on or Ruth Buzzy? I loved it when they would interview people from the 70's.
I'm getting nostalgic over nostalgia.
