Weren't o&a saying like a week or two ago the company asked if they wanted to go to the super bowl and the show said no? I'm certain that's how it went on the air, but now they're saying the company called it off.

I didn't hear this but I'm assuming it was a piggyback off of the 'management used to get us good prizes to give away' discussion that came up. Ignoring the fact that the station didn't go purchase that stuff, it was given to them by advertisers. I'm sorry if freshballs doesn't give away alot of vacations. Unironically ignoring the fact that in the recent future they gave away a jewel encrusted ipad and still only had like 4 people show up for the contest.

I didn't listen yet so I'm just going by what they said the other day when they said no we don't want to go because they didn't give us a 6 month heads up. Now they are mad because the company pulled the offer?

If I remember it was a short story,and he named it,but I can't recall.In a way I think Jimmy was making it up to fit his personal fantasies,and just goofed on fans of King.I could be wrong.Also I noticed I believe Bob Kelly did a similar goof by saying King's stories seem to all happen in Maine,but this One was based in Conn,then slipped into a plug-whore for his event at a Conn. venue.They just used King to suck people in.:unsure::annoyed:Listening is an art :flush:

i think he doesn't like when people who are listeners of the show get upset when he makes fun of something like this when they laugh at all the other things that they make horrible, inconsiderate jokes about. I think he is bothered by the disparity......make fun of this and its funny and ok, but make fun of that and its a furrowed brow and a wag of the finger from the same person that laughed 2min. before.

Opie bitched that he was just trying to avoid lawsuits and wasn't being the hole. Sorry Opie, but that is exactly what a hole would have done. I understand what you are saying, and it doesn't bother me, but I hate it when you poke fun at holes killing the comedy on other shows and can't take it when someone brings it back at YOU.

in movies and music.I did just buy an old movie based on hearing DROPS from the movie played over the years on RF.Sometimes I feel I know more and on some days less when it's about music ,since they are NYC/ INDUSTRY-metro and learn about bands sometimes before I do.Movies,I rarely go to,so I see what they talk about years later and don't care. TV stuff I care even less about usually,since I rarely watch it,and less than zero about sports which kills me for the waste of time I have to wade thru. Wow I'm listening to an old RF show and Dave comes across as a stupid kid,and Ron corrects his wrong impressions on the world having the advantage of many more years experience and NOT arrested development.It's a great contrast.Fez was also way more vital and relaxed as a THREESOME show.:sad::wink::ohmy::thumbup::drunk: Bring the drunk Irish back to the bedlam.:tongue:

Brilliant.

I listened to the interview and Rumsfeld really handled it well. He didn't get rattled and managed to stay focused and promote his book. He even managed to get a plug in for the audio book. It actually was quite an achievement to get someone as important as Donald Rumsfeld on the show, even if it was for a book promo. Ant. acted as I expected he would and kissed ass ferociously , Opie acted like a douche bag and Louie CK was trying to get some kind of reaction from Rumsfeld but the man refused to take the bait .

It sounded to me like they do have a prize, but they cant advertise this as a contest with a prize. So the whole talk to Travis thing is arranging their studio visit and telling them the prize. But look at cherry darts, which had a decent prize, and does not involved a room full of men laughing at how disgusting you are and could be advertised in a straightforward way, and they still only had 1 legit couple show up.
