I was just about to ask the same thing. I think even if they do that these spammers will still post they will just do it in other threads.

You can also start a thread after you've been a member for 30 days. In the past, they never lasted that long, because AJ and I would ban them every day before they ever got a chance to post. But as AJ pointed out, with 90 or so signing up every day, it just got to be too much work. I stopped being a mod, because of it, and AJ just got worn down and gave up.
