I agree with to an extent, but they didn't really mention the board that much when they were at WJFK. As I remember it, people were even surprised when, on or near their last day there, Ron DID mention the board. The only mentions of the board I can remember were when they were talking about specific board members. Then, when they hit XM, they plugged us all the time. That is, until we fell out of favor.

Two major factors hurt us. First, when ESD joined the show, people bashed him (just as everyone gets bashed by some people). He doesn't take criticism well, so he ran us down every chance he got. Second, Fez joining (and being bashed by the same kind of people who bashed ESD), was bad. He also didn't handle the criticism well. Also, though I am a huge ESD fan, he even went so far as to make stuff up about us, and take things out of context.

You see the click overall has been formed and the only way in is to literally be a fuck up willing to be the idiot/joke or literally willing to kiss ass. Some here with opinions have been GREAT fans and paid XM fees since day one. I'm one myself, but find it sad that some hosts can't take some constructive criticism or turn a blind eye to some complete assholes. Who cares? I'd have fucking fun with it if it was me, but they got all pissy. This includes ESD, who started here and met them via the board outings. Now it's all uptight and only a select few actually hang or get involvement.

The days of capos, Ron actually backing/going with Fez on topics and callers truly helping out the show (NYC callers overall were top notch) via pyramids and on-air guests (NOT THE SAME assholes every week). It just got stale and twitter is a complete control move on the part of the show bc they didn't like when they and especially their guests got criticism. At least that's the way it seemed to go down.

They have a LOT OF LOYAL fans here regardless of some harsh words here and there. Funny thing is, as long as it's about the revolving door of producers or Fez it's all ok.

Pretty much nailed it here. If the admin would just pass this on to someone with a LICK of interest here, things would at least be fresh and perhaps the right people would make it much more fun. PB was a good move to me bc he wasn't a clone, has opinions (like them or not) and is active. Yet if good mods here have no power, they are basically just janitors at best. It'll take a new admin to get his place going again, or at least keep what's left vital. There is still more activity and people here than pretty much any other r/f related board out there (easily over V3 Lenny). It's either make some adjustments or it will crash and burn. Some here with opinions have been GREAT fans and paid XM fees since day one. I'm one myself, but find it sad that some hosts can't take some constructive criticism or turn a blind eye to some complete assholes. Who cares? I'd have fucking fun with it if it was me, but they got all pissy. This includes ESD, who started here and met them via the board outings. Now it's all uptight and only a select few actually hang or get involvement.

The days of capos, Ron actually backing/going with Fez on topics and callers truly helping out the show (NYC callers overall were top notch) via pyramids and on-air guests (NOT THE SAME assholes every week). It just got stale and twitter is a complete control move on the part of the show bc they didn't like when they and especially their guests got criticism. At least that's the way it seemed to go down.

They have a LOT OF LOYAL fans here regardless of some harsh words here and there. Funny thing is, as long as it's about the revolving door of producers or Fez it's all ok.

It's just that everyone that was rolling this board along for the last few years moved over to a new board. They were sick and tired of overbearing MODS and Domineering Admins who thought that all this was so damn serious.

Sorry DL, that's just not true. ESD started here and always held his own until he took it too personal once picked up via this very board by the show. He used to roll and rip with the best of us, and I still think his anger was just part of the overall breakdown...not him personally taking issue.

As for HTG, she never really posted here, she just pretty checked in here and there. That's not my issue if she needs to get a mod quote changed via the show or more. That's bt her and the mods, bc it was all in good fun overall. How's that PAC going?

I always find it funny how those that rip and hate on air all day in other areas could have such thin fucking skin. Most who did take a shot or two at the show did it constructively and it was their honest opinion. Our conversational style of posting in one thread was frowned upon (understandably so). it was annoying and fucked up ispy. We looked into venues were we could have ongoing chats off the board that would support many people. Google wave was one, but didn't really work out. Then the splinter board was brought up. Actually a concept from mikeyboy and toolowbrow. Just a place to go without cluttering up this place as we planned on being active here.
Foster took the initiative and started it. We posted here for quite a while and just drifted off.

Lenny is very misunderstood. He knows he took it too far and there is no repair. The member list over there has some of the most loyal fans to date and they are happy. I will never say one board is better than the other because that is silly. It is nice that there are options out there for people's differing interests.

I got no problem with V3, just the MPW style is their thing... good on them. I like this place because we once had a style of order to be able to contribute to many conversations at once.
