Seems like they're blaming it mostly on the stop-motion technique. I haven't seen the movie, but I have to agree that it's creepy. I thought so in Polar Express, too.

*shudders* I didn't watch that one for just that reason.

I hate that the movie was done badly. I think Berke Breathed is AMAZING, and I think he deserved a better treatment of his book.

Hopeully this film will do well on the home screens. It is as amazing as Avatar in it's on way yet was clearly mismanaged during the marketing phase.

I read an interview with Berke Breathed where he said he got zero say in anything. Disney bought the story, and told him to butt out basically. No wonder it didn't do well.
