I'm glad he didn't keep her there like he'd threatened. Not illegal to be a racist jerk. I do hate people who try to game the system and not do their fair share, however.

i was reading about that yesterday. i dont think that the judge held her because she was a racist. imo, the judge was going more with the whole contempt of court angle.

And that's fine, but he has to basically be saying she's lying. Personally, I don't see why they'd even ask those questions; nothing good will ever come of them.

People write things like this all the time, to get out of jury duty.

This woman wasn't racist... She didn't hate the groups she listed on the sheet... She just didn't wanna be a involved in the court precedings. The only thing that she's guilty of, is being lazy.

The judge involved is a self-absorbed, self-gratifying opportunist. If dumb questions like that are going to be asked in the qualifiers, people are going to use it to their advantage. The judge made this a "story", not the potential juror.
