Why am I not surprised that our politicians always looking out for our so called best interests need to play nanny all the time? All I hear that kids are fatties and need exercise and that is definitely true but banning these games especially at summer camps? How the fuck are kids supposed to be active ?

You're not surprised because you didn't read the article, just the headline. It isn't actually anything about banning kickball, just determining which indoor day camps need to fall under the same regulations as outdoor ones. I swear that article was written in crayon, it's shamelessly awful in its attempt to wrestlingfan that subject.

No no no, it's not a ban on kickball, you just have to hire a licensed health professional if you want to play it. See???? No ban!

But they will probably ban it because there will be more bloat, more layers of bureaucrats with safety standards. Of course there are minor injuries from time to time. If someone gets hit in the face, all it takes is a little ice to calm down the swelling.

It is a nanny state. This is going to add to costs for enrollment fees etc.

Nothing bad ever happens in unlisenced day care, so I could see how one would assume you dont need anyone checking to see if these places have fire exits or anything.

I'm worried about what will happen to Ban deoderant. I seriously, seriously am because this is a very serious subject.

You should have told them that they were fat and their father didnt love them - would have fucked them up for the rest of their lives....

No where near as much money as that which will be lost on our health care expenditures from the effects of the soda (type 2 diabetes, hypertension, CAD, etc.) they are drinking.

(Oh, and the calories burnt from exercise from kickball won't offset the effects of the soda which are more than just calories.)

the mods should rename "Politics and Current Events" the WF Report... where links are posted to often stupid articles with an even stupider, right-wing slogan based link title.

What this really is is another way New York is trying to find to squeeze money out of people. A permit for camps to play kickball and wiffleball? Really? Another $200 for the state. Theyve turned into the fucking tax man from the movie Popeye.

No wonder states like NY are the laughingstock of the country. Im only 37 at the risk of sounding like "that guy" I remember getting cuts and bruises as a kid while playing outside it was a rite of passage. If someone got a bloody nose one of the other kids would go inside and grab a few napkins. It didnt require medical professionals and bureaucrats.

These fucking hack politicians want a world where everyones coddled. One of the proponents of this is Suzi Oppehheimer whos been in office since the birth of Christ

I play kickball on some pretty ratty fields and I'm not surprised more people don't blow their knee or break their ankle from playing on that shit.
