Obama's Middle East speech will smooth things over for the region writ large. But the Pakistanis have to be held accountable for fucking up as badly as they have.

Pakistan is the kid who has been bullied and bullied and bullied and then shows up at school one day with his Dads gun. They have a mortal enemy on the East, the US who they do not trust to their West. The country itself is rag tag variety of different factions, who don't get along particularly well ,loosely held together. The Government does not have ultimate authority over the military. They have nukes, Militants, a Hierarchal Islamist culture. The U.S. is walking a very fine line with this powder keg. It's an unsustainable situation but right now we don't need another headache.
