According to my husband, a 15lb weight "somehow" found itself on the floor of my bathtub. Now I have three rust spots on the bottom of my tub.
How do I cover them up/prevent them from becoming worse? Is there a Home Depot answer to this?

Home Depot sells a bathtub reglazing kit. Surely there is a touch-up kit associated with these. Barring that, I might soak a washcloth in CLR and place it over the rust spots for a while, let it dissolve the rust, rinse and dry with a hair dryer, then touch up with a bit of automotive touch-up paint.
Edit: Are the rust spots there due to a chip in the finish, or just on the surface because of where the weight was sitting? Cause if it isn't chipped then I bet that bleach idea is a great one.

I used CLR to take rust off of chrome on a bike and it worked pretty well.

Don't be too hard on him. What else are you going to use to counterbalance a dead hooker for exsanguination?

Tell your husband he needs more than 15 pounds to hold a person down before he drowns.

CLR works good. Dependig on how bad the rust spot is you can always mix in a little water with it. Let it stay for a bit and voila with some elbow grease its gone

is the rust from the weights or the tub itself? if it's the tub itself, you'd have to reglaze it. any scrubbing would remove more of the enameling and make it worse.

I've told him a hundred times not to bring his prey to our house. He's like a cat with a dead mouse. What am I supposed to do? Yell at him? Swat him with a newspaper? You have to understand their natural instincts. He's just doing what comes naturally. He's now a truck driver so he'll keep this shit out of my house. Like, what am I going to do with a wardrobe of sparkly tube tops and mini-skirts? I mean OTHER than cat fashion shows. Am I right?
The weights chipped the enamel of the tub. I don't know if it's worth reglazing the tub though. The bathroom is over 20 years old. I have a counter over my toilet tank (which leaves about three inches of leeway. Fucking contractors).
I'll look for "spot" repair kits until I redo the bathroom. I've been wanting to this for years. I'd love to redo my kitchen.
