Fez was right, Murray wasn't as pervasively awful as Chase when they were both down. Chevy Chase just had project after project that was terrible, Murray more seemed to go away for a bit. Plus, Bill Murray had his big comeback and Chevy Chase hasn't yet. Noone thought fondly of Bill Murray before Rushmore.

Also remember one of Chevy Chase's two personas was the above it all guy, so people want to dogpile on him when he's down. Murray was always the manchild, so him being a failure is more tragic and relatable.

Yea, don't get me wrong, love my grandkids and only see them a couple times a year (they are in St Louis) and are somewhat older (9/13/19). They try my patience in a different way than a 2 year old; think sometimes I would prefer the 2 year old. Good luck.
