There is a writing/producer position open at the WWF.

I'm wholly qualified for the position except for the fact that I lack 2 years of writing Episodic television, however, I do have screenplay and tons of other writing experience.

I gotta wonder if I should apply or not.

I've never read any of your professional writing, but I can say with 100% certainty that you would be better than any of the current writers.
