A Southwest Airlines pilot was suspended without pay after he accidentally broadcast a rant about his failure to score with the airline's flight attendants to dozens of air traffic controllers and fellow pilots. The airline hires a "continuous stream of gays and grannies and grandes," the man told his co-pilot, complaining that he wasn't getting any in his previous posting to Chicago and had now been relocated to Houston, "which is easily one of the ugliest bases." His cockpit microphone was stuck, causing his rant, filled with expletives and anti-gay slurs, to be broadcast on an air traffic control channel over a wide area, blocking the frequency.

Controllers were able to cut off his microphone after a few minutes, after which other commercial pilots checking in with controllers were keen to let them know that they weren't the ranter. "And they wonder why airline pilots have a bad reputation," one pilot said.

I actually agree with this. He was complainging that all the airline hires is old ladies and gay guys. If I was a single pilot Id complain too. I wouldnt want to broadcast it so that every ATC and pilot could hear me though. LOL That shit is hilarious.

I imagine the pilot vets probably laugh at the guys there now and tell stories of how they were constantly fucking hot stewardesses from town to town in the 70s and 80s. Just from riding planes now I can see how far the talent level has fallen since then.

The only thing i could imagine this dude being fired for is if the broadcast of his ranting kept other planes from communicating with the tower. And if they do fire him, and give us that as the reason, I'd be ok with it. I've just about used up all my outrage for enraging things that I read on the interwebs anymore.

But that's part of the point, the way this guy went on and on about it, you would think the only reason he became a pilot was to fuck hot stewardesses. If he doesn't like the 'perks' of his job, why not fly for someone else? All he did was bitch about stupid shit (much like we do here!)
