Thats true, in the happiness over gay marriage law there is a fundamental misunderstanding of it. This gay dude I know says See California, you thought you were the progressive one.... Like a referendum is the same thing as a bill. If it was a ref in NY it wouldn't have passed either. And as pointed out the 5 states before NY don't get any credit.

I think we'd have a different list if we wrap sketch into stand-up. I'd distinguish the two, leaving Fred Willard (my first nod, below), Ferrell (and, see useless coat-tailer Will Farrell on the tubes - ugh), or the late, Great Philip Edward Hartman among many, many others who excelled in sketch, though maybe never stodd before the "brick" wall.

Speaking of sketchers who escaped stand-up, but are damned funny: Will Arnet, Harry Shearer, Bob Odenkirk, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, etc.

I think Bob Odenkirk did stand up back in the day. I think most people in comic acting give it a shot just to get noticed.

Time and again, I cannot seem to get how MLC gets such props from the Buddays. Just useless, uber-promoting, selfish contibutions from this guy. 1. Sherlock Holmes’s assistant.

3. Homage to Emma.
4. Familiar initials: FMW/FW.
5. Alex Bell’s assistant (i.e., “Mr. Watson, come here!”).

Fez would be so much happier if he just came out already.

:

Exactly!
I haven't heard this episode yet... but I can't wait!
I've often wondered, if you asked Fez -point blank- "Fez, if you asked 100 people who know you, what percentage of them do YOU think don't know your secret? Do you think even ONE percent don't know that you're gay? Two percent?? It's not a secret, dude." How would he respond to it. (other than say "it's none of your business.")
For Fez to come out wouldn't mean jack shit to anyone but him. It's holding HIM down, but the rest of us have moved the fuck on. It was NEVER a secret. It wasn't a secret in 2000, and it especially isn't one now (with all the jokes and asides that Ron and the gang make everyday)

When they started doing characters for Fez last week, I sincerely hoped that one of the characters would be "comfortably out-of-the-closet homosexual". Seriously.
It sounds like that's what they did today with "Frank".

Bravo.
