As cynical as I am about these things, I just kind of figured that after Murdoch killed off News of the World and fired a couple of sacrificial lambs, this whole thing would kind of fade away. But it really seems like it's spinning out of his control. And now that we have an actual death associated with it, this is turning into a really juicy, hot scandal that other outlets will just love to sink their claws into.

Much the same way Murdoch started his own empire, as a matter of fact.

That article is pathetic. The donations could be from the company, the people who worked there and their families. I love how they leave facts out to mislead purposely. Also, the sitting president over the last few years usually will get more donations than most others as News Corp, get this, is hoping for influence and a voice with the US president. SHOCK they didn't give more to Palin after she quit her job, especially now that they can just funnel her money being she's a correspondent for Fox News anyway.
