Nobody likes us, everybody hates us.

One of the best things about music before the internet was I think you would learn more about a band, because that band had to be tangentially connected to some other band you like to find out about them, so you had a little bit of a story going in. Now, music just kindof gets thrown at us to see what sticks, so you can like a song in a completely contextless environment.

But you also formed your first impression in a much different way, you weren't challenged to like something, it was being introduced to you in a friendlier way. And ofcourse a lot of the time you had no idea what the band looked like before you actually showed up somewhere to see them live. Like these ladies, I probably would've thought they were so pretty in my head because of their vocal quality being so soft. Informally it's called the Lynette Knacksted effect. Oof.
