I dont think I like photography at all. I look at a lot of it and feel like here is someone trying to take a picture of signifigance. The actually subject doesn't matter, they're trying to get a picture of the invisible thing around the subject, and in doing so what are they really even looking at, or showing you? It's too postmodern to try and represent something invisible visually. I'd like to look at a picture of a thing or a person, and then let all the other stuff happen between me and the picture. I guess I feel like a lot of photography totally tries to coopt my experience.

I was looking at this photo series of Francis Bean Cobain, and it's very moody and heavy, and it's like you're only taking pictures of this girl for obscene reasons. Not at all for who she really is personally, and not because her mom is this famous train wreck, and not even because her dad was Kurt Cobain, and not because Kurt Cobain killed himself, and not because it's the anniversary of Nevermind, but because of all those things together. That's how small you make the person you're supposed to be showing us, she needs all that other shit piled up just to make her worth taking a picture of. I dont like it but I'm the voice of the common man, I guess.

I like to see good fortune smile on people. I just despise over-privilege. Some people never have to learn humility, and that bugs me. Most people have to work really hard (or at least do jobs they really hate) simply to live a modest life, and there are folks like Jennifer the Hutt who just get born into "fuck-you-money" and stand no risk to losing it, so they can do whatever they please whenever they want.
