It's on Mondays, at 10pm, on N.B.C. Frankly, as I'm watching, I find it less sexy, interesting, and witty than Mad Men - an obvious copy. I tried giving the show a shot, hoping it would be different than Mad Men, but it's not.
The main man, Nick Dalton, is a cheap suit compared to Don Draper. Sure, the women are all fantastic in bunny suits, but the appeal is already fading. Amber Heard, so sexy, but her new working relationship with the veteran bunny (who constantly tells people that she is the oldest thing in the fucking club) is basically that of Peggy and Joan.
The only thing different about this show, which is also set in the 60s, is that there is a mob element, but that doesn't seem to be holding up.
There are other side stories, but they are hardly interesting. one is black, one plans to rob the club, with her gay husband. And every episode, I will assume, will have a musical appearance.
I see this show being cancelled soon. Very, very soon.

Exactly. How the fuck could they think this would work? A show about the Playboy club with no nudity, no foul language, and following network tv standards? Why the fuck would anyone watch it? That and Pan Am both feel like they are trying to be the next Greys Anatomy and that type of show. They look like chick shows. Thats the wrong audience to try and go after with this type of material.

I'm pretty sure there was never any nudity in any Playboy Club.

I was really looking forward to this. I wasnt happy with the 1st eps. The beginning with the "mob boss" trying to rape her was just so cliche and played the exact way many expected but didnt want.
The Dalton character tries way too hard to be smooth like Don Draper but he is no Don Draper. I actually hated his character more then anything about this show. By the time the eps ended I wanted to knock him out. The side stories could get better as it goes and Amber Heard looked great but 1 night she kills a guy the next day shes back to work laughing and twisting on the dance floor like nothing happened? The older bunny is beautiful but she looks like a well kept 40+ year old who looks incredible for her age turns out she like 30 in real life. The story that interest me the most is Alice, I think I know where thats going to go but I might not stick around long enough to watch it!
I actually think this could have been a great show if done right. The back drop of the playboy clubs of the 60's and 70s should have been great because they were so big back then yet very exclusive. I think they took a great idea and executed it like shit!
The funny thing is that an episode of Mad Men took place in a Playboy Club.

And, the black bunny is the same black bunny in that Mad Men episode, who becomes the Brit's girlfriend.

will probably be cancelled by eps 3 or 4. NBC loves to cancel shows quickly especially if they are getting ratings this poor.

You want drama about the Playboy Club? I was looking at my dad's old Playboy Club keys. The presidential key was valid thru the year after I was born. He told me he used to go to get a cheap burger and a beer.

Its like they want people to hate this. Is Amber Heards character supposed to be that stupid? She has her blood stained uniform half in a bag half out of the bag and half under her bed so its in view for everyone to see yet no one has seen it til now? Its such bad writing they have such a great back drop for this show using the playboy club and mansion along with the city of Chicago. But instead of using this to try to create something good they are using every typical story lines and terrible situations.
Once again let me just say how much I hate the main character (aka Don Draper wannabe). The old bunny looked great in tonights eps dancing and singing duiring the opening scene.
