Great closers aren't overrated, but I agree with Zeets that 1: closers are overvalued because so few of them are consistent year to year, you always get fucked on a closers contract. And 2: there aren't as many great closers as there are teams, so I think teams try to designate guys as a closer who really cant handle it.

But there's something to be said for knowing you're going to close, some guys cant handle going back and forth, they're only good knowing they're coming in to close. Madsen sucked as a closer when he was the regular set up guy, this year he's great. Lidge, when he was good, sucked in non save situations.

One issue with indie bands right now, is when they self release music they tend to do it right away and keep working. It takes everyone else time to catch up, and they wind up getting popular off of music they made awhile ago and dont necissarily play anymore.

I remember MGMT complain about that, those two songs that got really big didn't sound like the direction they then went in, and they sound kindof annoyed about it.
