Anybody else interested in watching this? They've set the bait well enough to get me to bite. it's put together by some of the people from "24" but they're selling it with enough nuance and uncertainty to make it intriguing enough for grown-ups (hopefully a la "Rubicon").

I'm mistrustful of the premise, but I'm giving it a shot only just because it's on Showtime.
I am loving this show. Great stuff.
I am wondering what kind of direction it is going to go considering it got renewed for another season.

That's the worst news I've heard all day!
No way this show should go past one season. I hope they resolve the current storyline and I can pull out while it's still intriguing.

It's not available on iTunes.
Neither was the latest season of Damages.
Why do they make the best shows on tv the hardest ones to find?

Thats exactly what I was thinking. This current storyline is awesome but if they try to stretch it out or leave a cliffhanger now due to a second season it is going to suck balls.

Not too happy about the season finale for a show that was generally top shelf for most of its run. No spoilers but they used most of the clichés that one would expect from a network show. It didn't collapse as badly as The Killing but it was definitely disappointing.

Agreed on both.
This show just make sense. I understand the love he had for the little boy but to become a terrorist because of it and to help those who beat you, pissed on you and kept you captive for 8 years makes no sense. even if the last 2 years you were treated better and even "loved".
Dont get me wrong the vp seems like a total douche and shit like this probably does happen all the time with military strikes but to turn you back on your own country and put his family through that and the torture they will got through the rest of their lives seems unrealistic to me.
The scene in the bunker was very intense but it was so obvious what was going to happen. you knew he would press the button have a malfunction, fix the problem and out of nowhere his daughter calls right as he is about to do it again and no that stops everything?
I never really loved this show, it seemed all over the place and very slow paced but I gave it the full season. Dont know if Im coming back for the 2nd one.

I think the tape at the beginning was meant to explain the reason for his actions, he wasn't doing it to damage the United States, he wanted to do it to kill the Vice President and those closest to him who sanctioned the slaughter of 82 children then covered it up.

I understand that but he still becomes a terrorist in the eyes of most Americans and the pain and media attention he would be inflicting on his family for the rest of their lives all for that of 1 child he was forced to help and 81 others? Now I understand he fell in love with the little boy and Im sure he has become mentally fucked but once he got home and started to live and love his own children and life again to me it makes no sense to give all that up and destroy their lives to help an enemy.
Well it was the best show on tv untill the finale. WHat a bummer.
I guess if he actually blew up the vicepres it would of kind of killed the show for a second season, but I wish it didnt get renewed and just ended right there. Would of been a great ending to a great show to just blow all those motherfuckers up right there.
The suspense week to week is gone now because you now know that brody is a working with the terrorists and all the secrets are revealed. Thats what was so cool about the first episodes you had no idea what was going on.
It was a great show though while it lasted.
Looking forward to shameless and Californication.

This is one way it could go, but what if there was more to his promise to his daughter that he was "coming home" than just the physical act of doing so. What if in that moment he came to grips with the horror of ruining his family's life for one child and unturned? That is the doubt I think they will put into our minds next season and put us right back to wondering where he stands. That is , after all the tension of this show.

I didnt think it was that good and to be honest the fact that Brody actually was working with the terrorist made it even worse. The trailer kept saying something along the lines of "which one will be a terrorist" and the fact that he was coming back from iraq you thought it was going to be him. Then at first it wasnt which was great because it went completely opposite then most would have thought, then it was and to me that was a let down. It would have been better if he was hunting down the terrorist and his old partner. The fact they still went back to the obvious person as 1 of the terrorist and the reason he became a terrorist was lazy, imo.
I remember when the show was getting ready to air and every week talking about it the show and saying "it cant be the red head from Life because thats too obvious" and then it was him. I was so let down. When I first found out it was his old sniper partner I was happy because that seemed like a great, unexpected twist. Til that point the show seemed ok not great but very slowly dragging along. Then we find out they both are terrorist that turned and it got worse from there.
If I had to rate this overall series so far I would say at best it was a 7 out of 10. From reading other reviews of this show I think most are let down by it.

and thats why I think he would never have gone as far as he did. once he went home and reconnected with his real family (kids and wife) i would have thought he would never have done any of this. why would you do this over a child you worked with for a few weeks or even months? even if he cared for the child and we all agree the bombing was wrong but the terrorist do similar bombings all the time killing innocent. there is no way i can see a soldier who was treated so badly would switch that easily after all hes been through before being a pow and then after all that happened to him.
Now if he came home and just told the truth and put the VP on blast to the media, that would make more sense then killing himself for the enemy whole destroying the lives of the rest of his family for the rest of their lives. Not to mention he fought to survive for years while a pow to now just kill himself is stupid.
Face it, Game of Thrones is the only show with the balls to kill the main character in the first season. Hell, before the season even ended.
I really wanted him to go through with it, and force them to get a new main guy to continue the show. I hate when marketing bullshit of having a recognizable main guy trumps how the writing should go.
I wanted the first season of 24 (the only one I watched) to just end Jack Bauer. And have every subsequent season be about a different dude. I find it more realistic for a "crazy" day to happen to multiple people more than one action hero over and over and over again.

They only had those balls because the author of the books had them in the first place and you could tell the people who were too lazy to read because they were the ones who were pissed off about it.
